Main Street Eats Bringing Food Truck Park and Restaurant to Lakeland
Opening in about six months, Main Street Eats will feature a restaurant in a restored historic building, plus a food truck park and commissary kitchen for local vendors.
Main Street Eats, a new food truck park and restaurant concept, is set to open in East Downtown Lakeland in approximately six months, co-owner Butch Rahman shared with Business Debut. Located at 1112 E Main St, Lakeland, FL 33801, the project will include a restaurant housed in a restored 112-year-old building, along with space for eight food trucks and a commissary kitchen for local vendors.
Rahman, a banker with a background in the financial industry, is partnering with Chad Englund, an award-winning local expert in historic restorations. Together, they are breathing new life into the historic property while preserving its charm and character.
During the restoration, Rahman shared some of the fascinating history uncovered in the building. Among the discoveries were voided checks belonging to Fred Sloan, a member of the longtime Lakeland-residing Sloan family. After news of the project broke, a local family reached out with a photograph of their grandmother, who had lived in the building for 40 years, adding a personal touch to the story of the space.
Main Street Eats will provide a consistent destination for food truck enthusiasts, offering set hours and menus for vendors. Rahman believes this approach will make the park a favorite for local diners and college students seeking diverse food options in one convenient location.
