TREASURE ISLAND, FL — Heavenly Donuts and Deli is preparing to open later this year at 10825 A Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706, pairing decorated donuts with Boar's Head deli sandwiches, owner Morgan Jimenez told Business Debut in a phone interview.

What to Expect

The shop will offer a mix of donuts, sandwiches, coffee and grab-and-go items. They will have three tiers of donuts: classic, divine, and elite.

Jimenez said the space will have seating along with a counter designed for quick service. Chips and sodas will be available for takeout.

Jimenez plans to focus on 3-ounce donuts made fresh each day. He decorates the donuts and offers custom designs for occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, including an option to print customer photos onto donuts.

Alongside classic glazed and chocolate, Jimenez plans specialty flavors such as vanilla bread pudding, strawberry shortcake, Boston creme and more.

On the deli side, expect sandwiches made with Boar's Head meats and cheeses. The menu will feature clubs, Italian subs, Reubens and pastrami sandwiches, homemade chicken salad sandwiches, and turkey clubs. Jimenez plans to develop homemade traditional sauces for the sandwiches.

Coffee service will include cappuccinos, espressos, lattes, regular coffee and some specialty coffees. Jimenez also plans cookies and some pastries.

Ownership Background

Jimenez has worked in the restaurant industry for about 30 years and has opened multiple restaurants.

He was born and raised in the New Orleans area. Drawing on that background, he operated The Big Easy, a Cajun restaurant in Winter Garden, for about 12 years, and another Big Easy location in Windermere, he shared.

Jimenez also ran Casa Jimenez in Winter Garden, a concept inspired by his father's roots in Bogotá, Colombia.

After years in the Orlando and Winter Garden area, he moved to Treasure Island and described himself as semi-retired before deciding to open Heavenly Donuts and Deli.

Opening Timeline

He is targeting an opening sometime in December, with a possibility of late November if permits move quickly. Jimenez said his goal is to open no later than January to be ready for the seasonal influx of visitors.
