PANAMA CITY, FL — Techspresso is preparing to open a new coffee shop at 1013 Transmitter Rd, Panama City, FL 32401 in November, owner Dr. Jamiel Vadell told Business Debut in a phone interview.

What to Expect

This new location will serve a streamlined coffee shop serving specialty grade coffee. The original location is known for its coffee and several large study rooms. This unit, Dr. Vadell said, isn't large enough to provide study rooms but will focus on serving cafe beverages.

Techspresso serves specialty grade coffee across its locations, supported by an in-house roasting operation.

Ownership Background

Vadell teaches business as a professor and developed Techspresso out of an entrepreneurship course project.

“This was a final project for one of my courses in entrepreneurship,” he shared with Business Debut. Students initially estimated a startup cost of $120,000 for the concept. Dr. Vadell estimated that he could open the shop for significantly less.

“I go, 'guys I bet you we can do it under 20,000',” Vadell said.

That classroom challenge led to the first brick-and-mortar beach location, followed by a mobile trailer, a gym kiosk, additional sites, and now the Transmitter Road shop.

Vadell said his approach centers on reinvesting profits into infrastructure and keeping as many functions in-house as possible.

He described the growth to four active coffee setups and ongoing planning for future locations in Florida markets such as Orlando and Tampa.

Opening Timeline

Vadell said he is targeting an opening in mid-November.
