Kingston 10 Jerk Center & Lounge to Debut in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, FL — Kingston 10 Jerk Center & Lounge is targeting a June 19 opening at 1031 W. 15th St., Panama City, FL 32401, in the former Baked Chicken location. The family and female operated business comes from Shericka Daley and her mother, Ann Marie Bailey, Daley told Business Debut.

What to Expect

Kingston 10 Jerk Center & Lounge will offer authentic Jamaican food, entertainment and a space designed to introduce more of the culture to Panama City.

The restaurant will seat about 85 guests across two dining rooms and an outdoor patio, Daley told Business Debut. One dining room will offer a more private, relaxed lounge setting, while the patio will have a more active atmosphere with live music and entertainment.

“If you’re looking just to relax in a cozy environment, not too much activity, then we have the lounge area,” Daley told Business Debut.

Daley said the goal is to create more than a restaurant.

“We’re looking to more than sell an experience,” Daley told Business Debut. “It’s like you’re visiting Jamaica without being in Jamaica.”

Daley, who is originally from Jamaica and has lived in Panama City for about 12 years, said the area has a growing Jamaican community but limited access to Jamaican food and culture.

“We want to keep the culture alive wherever you are,” Daley told Business Debut.

Menu and Vision

The menu will include oxtails, curry goat, jerk sausage, jerk ribs, jerk wings and loaded jerk fries. Daley said oxtails are one of her personal favorites, while the loaded jerk fries will be one of the restaurant’s signature items.

The restaurant will also offer jerk whole chicken for special events, including holidays such as Thanksgiving, Daley told Business Debut.

Service will include a host greeting guests, dine-in service, takeout, cashier service and self-serve drinks. Kingston 10 will also offer catering and private events.

Hours

Kingston 10 Jerk Center & Lounge plans to open Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for at least the first six months. The restaurant will be closed Sundays.
