The rise of Nashville-style hot chicken is being seen all over the Sunshine State. From Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and South Florida, several locations are bringing the heat.

Dave’s Hot Chicken Expanding to Jacksonville and Gainesville

Dave’s Hot Chicken is growing its footprint in North Florida, with franchisee Andrew Hamerling spearheading the expansion into Jacksonville and Gainesville. Hamerling, who operates Jersey Mike's and other franchises, has secured the rights to develop multiple Dave’s Hot Chicken locations in these markets.

The first of these locations opened recently at 3524 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608. Building on its success, a new restaurant is now in the works for 10261 River Marsh Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32246. An opening timelines isn't currently clear, but it will feature seating for over 80 guests, including indoor and outdoor options.

Hamerling plans to open at least five locations across Jacksonville and Gainesville over the next four years, continuing to bring Dave’s signature hot chicken to the region.


Dave’s Hot Chicken Opening in Odessa This April

The next Tampa-area location of Dave’s Hot Chicken is set to open in early April, according to co-franchisee Ian Lieberman. Following the successful launch of their Wesley Chapel location, Ian and his brother Adam are bringing another fast-casual hot chicken concept to the greater Tampa area.

The new 2,800-square-foot restaurant will be located at 13446 Pine Gap Spur, Odessa, FL 33556 and is part of the Lieberman brothers’ ambitious plan to open 8 locations of the franchise. Ian shared that their expansion will continue as long as they can secure prime real estate.

Known for its fried chicken tenders and spice levels ranging from "No Heat" to "Reaper," Dave’s Hot Chicken now operates nearly 200 locations worldwide.


4th Orlando-Area Dave’s Hot Chicken Set to Open in Kissimmee

Dave’s Hot Chicken is expanding its Orlando-area presence with a new location planned for Kissimmee. Franchisee Scott Strahm shared that the restaurant will take over a former Tijuana Flats space at 6113 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34747. The opening is expected early this year, though a firm timeline has yet to be confirmed.

This will be the fourth Orlando-area location for Strahm, who also operates Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants in Waterford Lakes, Altamonte Springs, and Lake Mary. Strahm, a seasoned multi-unit franchisee with Five Guys in Central Florida, expressed excitement about opening near Disney and the tourist hubs on Orlando’s west side.


Dave’s Hot Chicken Opening in Pompano Beach This Spring

Dave’s Hot Chicken is set to bring its signature Nashville-inspired flavors to Pompano Beach, with a new location slated to open in April or May, according to franchisee Craig Ollis. Located at 2390 N Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach, FL 33062, this will mark the brand’s second Broward County location, following its successful debut in Pembroke Pines.

Ollis, who holds franchise rights for Broward County, has plans to open a total of eight locations in the area. After Pompano Beach, a Coral Springs location is expected to follow in June or July, with a fourth site nearing a lease agreement.

Byrd’s Hot Chicken Coming to Pembroke Pines and Florida Keys

Byrd’s Hot Chicken is set to bring its bold flavors to 9610 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 in early 2025. Franchisee Tariq Siddiqui shared that the restaurant plans to open during the first quarter of the year, though an exact date has not been confirmed.

Siddiqui, who recently opened a Byrd’s Hot Chicken location in Boynton Beach, holds the franchise rights for South Florida and aims to expand aggressively throughout the state. Although the total number of planned locations remains unspecified, Siddiqui intends to establish as many as possible.

In addition to the Pembroke Pines location, Siddiqui is preparing to launch a Byrd’s Hot Chicken food trailer in the Florida Keys, with Key Largo being a potential base. While the timeline for the trailer's debut is still under wraps, locations are currently being finalized.
