PINECREST, FL — D Third Place, a new bookstore, cafe and champagne bar from co-owners and friends Issy Delch and Francis Alonso Gonzalez, is targeting an October 23 opening at 12659 South Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL 33156.

What to Expect

The concept grew out of Delch and Alonso Gonzalez’s shared love of reading and their participation in a book club, they shared with Business Debut in an interview. The owners describe D Third Place as a community space built around books, conversation and regular gatherings.

Guests will enter through a gift shop area and a front register with a full wall of books. Across from the books, a bar will serve champagne, boba drinks and coffee. The space will also feature a workshop table, a children’s area in the back for story times, and seating for reading and small events.

Planned programming includes bilingual children’s story time on Tuesdays, Sunday faith gatherings with a Bible study group, candle-making workshops and bookmark-making workshops, Delch told Business Debut. Jazz nights are in development.

The cafe menu will focus on coffee, champagne and boba. Pastries and sourdough-based items such as toast will anchor a simple food lineup meant for guests who want to sit and read and snack.

On the shelves, expect a variety of genres, including romance, business, and wellness. They will also have a full selection of books in Spanish and a dedicated children’s section in the back of the store.

Ownership Background

Delch and Alonso Gonzalez are best friends who have worked together for years. “The idea came from two friends. We are best friends and we love to read,” Delch told Business Debut.

The pair bring extensive business experience. Delch said they work out of her tax office, Refund One, which she opened about 10 years ago with her husband. The company has franchises in Florida and Houston, and their Cutler Bay office serves as a headquarters.

Beyond tax services, the ownership group also operates a hotel in Mexico and a real estate brokerage.

D Third Place is their entry into the book and cafe space. “It comes from friendship and a love of books,” Delch told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

The owners are targeting October 23 for the opening date, Delch told Business Debut.

Construction is nearing completion, and they are working through permitting. If that date shifts, an updated opening day remains to be announced.
