Acai Boba Licious Opening a Second Location in Jacksonville

This will be the brand second location since they debuted a year ago.

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — David Nouman and his fiancée, Janelle Alfakouri, are planning to open Acai Boba Licious 2 on May 1 at 2013 Jammes Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32210. Nouman told Business Debut the new shop will bring the couple’s fast-casual concept to the Westside after opening their first Acai Boba Licious location about a year earlier.

What to Expect

Acai Boba Licious 2 will serve a mix of açaí bowls, boba, ice cream, Dubai chocolate cups and smoothies, Nouman told Business Debut. He said the couple chose the Westside because they saw an opening in the market and “really not much out there,” adding that they expect little direct competition in the area.

The shop will have 10 seats inside and is designed primarily for quick visits, takeout and third-party delivery orders through services such as DoorDash and Uber Eats, Nouman told Business Debut.

The new store is next to Big Time Smoke and Vape at 2011 Jammes Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32210, one of three smoke shops he owns. He said Acai Boba Licious 2 will be his second açaí shop, giving him five total businesses.

Nouman told Business Debut the concept has personal roots for the couple. “This is our little love story,” he said, explaining that Alfakouri brought him an açaí bowl early in their relationship and that the idea became part of how they connected.

He said customer favorites at the first location include the açaí bowls, Dubai chocolate cups and smoothies. His go-to bowl is a simple mix of açaí, granola, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi and honey, while Alfakouri’s favorite includes açaí, coconut, banana, condensed milk, powdered milk and Nutella, Nouman told Business Debut.

He said the first Acai Boba Licious location opened on May 1 of the previous year, and the second location follows nearly one year later.

Opening Timeline

The couple is targeting a May 1 opening, Nouman told Business Debut. He said interior work is mostly complete, while exterior lighting is being installed and signage is expected soon.

Hours

Acai Boba Licious 2 is expected to be open seven days a week from 11 a.m.—9 p.m., with extended hours until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Nouman told Business Debut.
