Travel-Themed Café Opening in Clearwater with Global Cuisine

SLOW Or On-The-Go Café is set to open soon in Clearwater, owner Roy Harris shared with Business Debut. Originally from South Africa, Harris is bringing an upscale European café ambiance to the area, with a focus on refined, healthy food and drink options in a clean and comfortable setting. With a theme centered around travel, guests can expect a passport-themed menu book, along with travel motifs throughout.

The café will also feature a versatile events space, perfect for hosting wedding parties, baby showers, and other gatherings. In the evenings, it will transform into a lively venue for swing and Lindy Hop dance nights. Operating hours will be 7 am – 3 pm daily, with upscale brunch offered on Saturdays and a high tea experience on Sundays. The menu will highlight international cuisine, including Italian, South African, and other global influences, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

Harris shared that the café’s mission goes beyond food and hospitality. Proceeds from the business will support two charitable organizations in South Africa. The Community Mental Health and Psychiatry Foundation produces over 1,200 meals daily for mental health and psychiatry patients and medical staff. Additionally, USA4RSA, a foundation based in Cape Town and Tampa, will benefit from the café’s efforts to create positive change in both communities.
