ATLANTA, GA — Some Luck, the new concept from the team behind Talat Market, is targeting an early July opening at 644 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, co-owner Rod Lassiter told Business Debut. He and Parnass Savang are opening Some Luck together.

What to Expect

Some Luck will introduce a bar-forward concept focused on late-night dining in the Virginia-Highland area. The space will feature a mix of bar seating, standing room, booth seating in a side room, and limited outdoor tables.

“We’re kind of trying to fill that neighborhood late night, reliable food spot,” Lassiter told Business Debut.

The venue will also operate alongside the existing Highland Ballroom space, which will continue to host private events independently from the restaurant’s day-to-day operations.

The menu will center on Thai barfare, a more casual, snack-driven approach to Thai cuisine. Offerings are expected to include papaya salad, skewers, spiced nuts, congee-style dishes, and snackable items like Thai-style chips and dips.

“It is Thai food, but it’s Thai drinking food,” Lassiter told Business Debut, describing the concept as less focused on traditional dinner service and more on shareable, late-night options.

The beverage program is expected to include Thai-inspired cocktails, beer selections, and specialty drinks, with a focus on approachable pricing for hospitality industry workers and late-night guests.

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting a July 1 opening, with the possibility of opening earlier depending on construction progress.

Current work includes interior finishing, painting, and installation of equipment and fixtures, Lassiter shared with Business Debut.

Hours

Some Luck plans to open initially for dinner service, with late-night hours extending until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The team expects to expand to seven-day service and add lunch hours over time, Lassiter told Business Debut.
