Korean Fried Chicken Coming Soon to Atlanta: Pelicana Chicken
Here's what the local franchisee shared about the plans.
ATLANTA, GA – Pelicana Chicken plans to open a new restaurant this fall near Emory at 1540 Avenue Pl NE B260, Atlanta GA 30329, franchisee John Suh shared with Business Debut in a recent interview. The location sits across from General Muir.
What to Expect
Pelicana Chicken is a Korean fried chicken franchise that began in South Korea and now operates in multiple countries. Suh said the brand has about 80 to 90 locations across the United States, with about four or five in Georgia and an estimated 1,500 in South Korea.
The Emory-area restaurant will seat about 60 to 70 guests. The dining room will include about 10 to 12 tables inside and a patio area. The concept will include full service, but is also designed to handle lunch rush demand from nearby offices, Emory University, and the CDC.
Pelicana Menu
Pelicana Chicken focuses on Korean fried chicken and its signature sauces. Suh highlighted yangnyeom, a Korean word that he said translates to “sauce,” as a key flavor in the menu. The chain is known for sauced chicken with a sweet, spicy and tangy profile, Suh told Business Debut.
Suh plans to expand beyond fried chicken at the Emory location. The menu will feature tacos, salad, pizza, fried rice and several side dishes, he said. Beverages will include soft drinks, water, beer and wine.
All food will be made to order.
Opening Timeline
Suh is targeting a September opening for Pelicana Chicken at Emory. A specific grand opening date remains to be announced, he told Business Debut.
