Here's What's Replacing BOCA in Summerhill: Viva

ATLANTA, GA – Viva, a new taqueria from local operator Agustin Leon, is preparing to open at 39 Georgia Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, Leon told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.

The space previously housed BOCA. Leon shared with Business Debut that Viva will offer a smaller, focused menu with a casual atmosphere for neighborhood diners.

What to Expect

Leon described Viva as a taqueria-style concept with counter service and a streamlined menu. The restaurant will seat about 60 guests between the dining room, bar, and patio, Leon told Business Debut.

He said the team plans to keep prices at a level that encourages frequent neighborhood visits.

Menu and Vision

Viva will center on tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas and a few bowls, with an emphasis on steak tacos.

“The thing is, we’re trying to specialize in the quality,” Leon said.

Leon described the menu as more aligned with traditional Mexican dishes. He said the team will pay attention to customer feedback and may adjust offerings over time based on demand.

Leon’s family operates several Viva Mexico restaurants in Marietta, Canton and Buford. He told Business Debut that Viva is a smaller-format concept.

Opening Timeline

Leon said Viva is waiting on final approvals from the city.

He said the team is targeting an opening soon, with the exact date to be announced.

Hours

Leon told Business Debut that Viva plans to open seven days a week.
