New in Ybor City: King Corona 1902 Coming Soon
This 12,000 square foot cigar lounge will feature food, two full bars, and a members-only area.
TAMPA, FL – King Corona 1902, a new 12,000-square-foot cigar lounge and cafe from owner Ivan Kalasho, is preparing to open November 1 at 1902 E 7 Ave, Tampa, FL 33605, Kalasho told Business Debut in a phone interview.
The concept extends the King Corona presence on East Seventh Avenue in Ybor City. The company already operates a nearby location and will keep both open.
What to Expect
King Corona 1902 will occupy the former Zydeco Brew Werks space and span two levels. The downstairs floor will be open to the public, with the upstairs reserved for members.
The upstairs lounge will feature members-only access, custom furniture, and a stage for live performances. The ground floor and mezzanine will each include a full-service bar.
The venue will include 500 cigar lockers on the main level and another 100 lockers upstairs. "Many stores only have 40 or 50 lockers. We have 500 downstairs."

Menu and Vision
King Corona 1902 will incorporate a full coffee roasting section near one of the entrances. The space will operate as a full cafe where guests can order drinks to stay or to go and purchase packaged gourmet coffee.
The building also has a full kitchen. Kalasho said the team has not finalized an everyday food program, but the kitchen is designed for events such as private functions and weddings.
Kalasho described the project as an expansion of the King Corona brand, which also has locations in California. "This is just an extension," he said.
Opening Timeline
Kalasho said the team is targeting a November 1 opening. Construction is underway now.
Kalasho said King Corona 1902 is planned as the largest cigar lounge in Tampa.
Hours
Kalasho said King Corona 1902 plans to open seven days a week.
