TAMPA, FL – La Victoria is set to debut for dinner service Thursday, October 22, at 105 W. Tyler St Tampa, FL 33602, owner Erick Meza told Business Debut.

Meza described La Victoria as an "authentic elevated coastal Mexican concept" that centers on family recipes and a modern approach to drinks and service. The 3,700-square-foot space will seat about 150 guests and is replacing the former Melting Pot Social.

La Victoria builds its menu around traditional family recipes that Meza said were passed down through generations. Meza said authenticity comes through in details such as sourcing roasted coffee beans from Mexico for the cafe program, which will run in the mornings.

The bar will feature a cocktail and mocktail lineup with Mexican influences. Meza said guests can expect drinks built around palomas, aguas frescas, margaritas and an infused mocktail program that incorporates flavors like jicama and horchata.

Executive chef Terrell Manning leads the kitchen. "He brings a twist to make it more modern but we are not sacrificing on the authenticity," Meza told Business Debut, noting that the base of each dish remains rooted in Mexican tradition.

Exact menu details are to be announced, but you can catch glimpses of tacos blue corn tortillas, bone marrow, and raw seafood on their Instagram.

Ownership Background

La Victoria is Meza’s first restaurant of his own, supported by his family. He is also partnered with Andrew Gus Thieken on the project.

Meza said his family owns and operates Mexican restaurants in Ohio and Connecticut. La Victoria will be their fifth restaurant overall, the first in Florida and the first in Tampa.

He shared that the cafe program will start Friday, running 7 a.m. — 3 p.m., followed by dinner from 4 p.m. — 10 p.m.
