New in Tampa and St. Pete: Juici Patties Coming Soon

Here's the latest on the Jamaican brand's plans for greater Tampa Bay.

TAMPA, FL — Juici Patties is preparing to enter the greater Tampa Bay market with two franchise locations, starting with a shop near the University of South Florida at 2705 University Square Dr, Suite 130, Tampa, FL 33612, franchisee Tifany Hollingsworth told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.

Hollingsworth said the second area location is planned for 3270 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33712, with a target opening around December.

She and business partner Fredrik Moe, a cousin who operates multiple Juici Patties locations in Jamaica, are planning a total of six units across the Tampa Bay area.

“We are really excited about both of those locations,” Hollingsworth told Business Debut.

Juici Patties focuses on Jamaican-style patties with various fillings, along with sides and beverages.

The U.S. menu lists classic beef patties in several formats, including spicy beef, jerk beef and cheesy beef, along with curry chicken and jerk chicken patties. Vegetable and spinach patties appear as meat-free options.

The brand also offers combo meals that pair patties with sides such as coco bread and plantain chips, as well as desserts and Jamaican soft drinks, according to the menu on the company’s website.

Hollingsworth said her family’s connection to patties spans generations, starting with a great-grandfather who ran a bakery that sold Jamaican patties. “My cousin has continued with that and owns a couple of Juici Patties locations in Jamaica,” she told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

Hollingsworth said the Tampa location is on track for a soft opening for friends and family on September 5.

She said the restaurant will remain open after that date and will hold a grand opening event September 19 with music, a DJ and additional festivities.

For the St. Petersburg shop on Central Avenue, Hollingsworth said construction had not started yet but she is targeting an opening around December.

Hollingsworth said she and Moe are continuing site searches for four additional Tampa Bay locations, with hopes to begin work on another store in the coming months.
