BUFORD, GA – Spice Harbor, a new spice and specialty retail shop from owner Nancy Alhabashi, is planned for 78 East Main St, Buford, GA 30518, with opening targeted after final city approvals are complete, Alhabashi told Business Debut.

What to Expect

Alhabashi described the concept as an immersive spice and flavor shop that highlights seasonings from many cuisines. She plans to stock “any kind of seasoning you can think of,” along with infused oils, vinegars and teas, she told Business Debut.

Customers will be able to assemble their own trays of candy that staff can wrap with seasonal or holiday ribbons.

She aims to create a multi-sensory environment that centers aroma, texture and visual presentation through open bins, jars and curated displays. The goal is a destination for home cooks, gift buyers and readers who want to explore new flavors and products in one compact storefront, she said.

Books will be part of the concept as well. Shelves will carry a mix of cookbooks, poetry, children’s books and fiction. She plans to offer custom and corporate gift baskets.

Ownership Background

Alhabashi has worked in the spice and specialty retail space for around 15 years and previously operated a spice-focused shop in Gwinnett County.

Her personal story also informs Spice Harbor. Alhabashi is a cancer survivor who turned to visual art and poetry during treatment and recovery, she said. That work led to gallery exhibits in Lawrenceville and nearby cities and evolved into an ongoing art career.

Opening Timeline

Alhabashi said she hopes to open as soon as zoning and health department requirements are satisfied and interior work is complete.

Hours

Once open, Alhabashi anticipates testing hours and adjusting based on demand. She said initial public hours are expected to be Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. — 6 p.m., though those hours may change after the first month of operation.

She also expects to be on-site daily during the early weeks to learn customer patterns and refine the schedule, she told Business Debut.
