Laplies Caribbean Eatz Bringing Homemade Caribbean Comfort Food to Orlando
The owner says the concept is inspired by bringing Haitian flavors to a wider audience.
ORLANDO, FL — Laplies Caribbean Eatz is preparing to open at 2800 South Rio Grande Ave., Orlando, FL 32805, with an opening date to be announced pending regulatory approval. Owner Ginette Daphinis told Business Debut the restaurant is ready in a days notice once the approval comes through.
What to Expect
Laplies Caribbean Eatz will be a takeout-focused restaurant serving a mix of Haitian, Caribbean and American-style food. Daphinis told Business Debut guests can expect items such as chicken, rice, french fries, sandwiches and fried chicken wings.
The restaurant will not offer indoor seating, Daphinis told Business Debut. The focus will be on quick, takeout-friendly meals prepared fresh.
Menu and Vision
Menu highlights will include fried chicken wings, french fries and griot, a Haitian dish made with fried meat, fried plantains and sauce, Daphinis told Business Debut.
Daphinis, who is from Haiti, said the restaurant grew out of years of cooking for people who enjoyed her food and encouraged her to bring her cooking to a larger audience.
“I’m living in a different culture, let me try to bring something new, like my taste, my cooking,” Daphinis told Business Debut.
She said everything at Laplies Caribbean Eatz will be made from scratch and prepared with care.
“When I’m doing my products, I do them from scratch,” Daphinis told Business Debut. “I do them with my heart, with my passion, with my love.”
Myonel Zamor will also be helping with the business, Daphinis told Business Debut.
Opening Timeline
The opening date is to be announced. Daphinis told Business Debut she is waiting for DBPR approval and plans to open as soon as that approval is received.
Hours
Laplies Caribbean Eatz plans to open daily from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Daphinis told Business Debut.
