LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Kuyen, a new Venezuelan and Peruvian restaurant from Jhonathan Moreno, is targeting an early June opening at 144 E Crogan St, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

Moreno told Business Debut the team is currently finalizing branding and design elements inside a second-generation restaurant space that requires minimal construction.

What to Expect

Kuyen will operate as a full-service restaurant with a casual, social atmosphere designed for both everyday dining and outings like date nights. Moreno described the concept as a “social kitchen” where guests can gather in a relaxed setting while enjoying elevated presentation at an accessible price point, he told Business Debut.

The restaurant is expected to seat more than 30 guests and will be open daily. A bar program is also planned.

The menu will focus on a fusion of Venezuelan and Peruvian cuisines, with arepas and ceviches as the headlining items. Moreno, who was born in Venezuela and has Peruvian family ties, said the concept blends traditional dishes from both cultures alongside modern takes on street food.

“We want to make a fusion. We’ve seen how those two cuisines come together,” Moreno told Business Debut. “Our main items are arepas and ceviches.”

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting an early June opening, with current efforts centered on branding and final interior updates, Moreno told Business Debut.
