Hillsborough Counties 3 New (& Coming Soon) Burger Spots

Greater Tampa Bay has been getting some new burger spots recently, and here are three that have either recently opened, or are planning to open soon.

Byte Burgers — Tampa

Address: 301 N Westshore Blvd, Tampa, FL 33609

Status: Food truck targeting an opening in the next 30 days; restaurant targeting an opening in the next couple of months. Currently has a location in Temple Terrace.

What to expect: Byte Burgers is preparing a new Tampa location on Westshore Boulevard. Before the restaurant opens, the brand plans to operate a food truck in the parking lot.

Menu highlights: Classic cheeseburgers, truffle burgers, Lebanese-inspired chicken sandwiches and falafel smash burgers.

More to know: The brand recently launched in Temple Terrace, and co-owner Ali Mansour said business has been strong since opening this spring.

Expansion plans: Ali Mansour said he and his brother, Ahmed Mansour, also plan to open a larger Byte location with a full bar. Details on that project are still to be announced.

Slap Burger — Tampa

Address: 14915 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33613

Status: Targeting June 21. The date has not been formally finalized.

What to expect: New York- and New Jersey-born smashburger franchise opening a full-service restaurant near the University of South Florida. The restaurant will seat about 40 guests and sits near student housing, making late-night service a major part of the plan.

Menu highlights: Single, double and triple smashburgers; Slap and Flame burger with jalapeños; Slap Melt with two patties and three cheeses; fries; in-house mac and cheese; hot dogs; loaded platters; Nashville-style chicken sandwiches; tenders; shakes; and organic Slap Lemonades.

Signature item: The Slap Melt features two patties with three cheeses stuffed inside.

Hours: Exact hours are still to be announced. The team plans to start by operating until about 2:30 a.m., with possible later hours until 3 a.m.

ANF Gyros And Grill — Plant City

Address: 1713 James L Redman Pkwy, Plant City, FL 33563

Status: Targeting an opening in about two weeks, pending inspections.

What to expect: New Plant City location for ANF Gyros And Grill. Owner Frank Haouati said the restaurant will be the brand’s ninth open Florida location and will follow the standard setup used at its other restaurants.

Menu highlights: Gyros and grilled items. Grand opening discounts are planned, with specific offers to be announced closer to opening.

More to know: The brand is family owned and offers franchise opportunities. Haouati said additional locations are also planned in Kissimmee and Sanford, both still in construction.
