Collins Family Foods and BBQ Opening Brick-and-Mortar in Villa Rica
Known for its popular food truck, Collins Family Foods and BBQ will open its first restaurant in Villa Rica this October, offering smoked meats and daily lunch specials.
Collins Family Foods and BBQ, owned by chef Joe Collins, is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 218 W Montgomery St, Villa Rica, GA 30180, with a soft opening set for mid-October. Known for its mobile food truck success, the business has received strong community support and has actively given back by feeding the homeless.
Chef Collins reported that he trained in Memphis and spent time honing his culinary skills in Madrid, Spain. The menu will feature ribs, rib tips, smoked turkey legs (their most famous item), dirty rice, smoked loaded mashed potatoes, coleslaw, smoked chicken and more. Collins also plans to offer a daily lunch special for $7.77, which includes an entrée, side, bread and drink.
The seasoning used in many of the dishes, called Gold Dust, combines the rich history of Memphis food and music with the influence of Villa Rica, also known as the City of Gold.
