DECATUR, GA – Thai concept Khao is preparing to open as a delivery-focused ghost kitchen at Decatur Food Hub at 2670 E College Ave, Decatur, GA 30030, owner Natcha Ekteeraprapa shared with Business Debut in a phone interview.

Ekteeraprapa said the venture will operate within the shared facility as Khao’s first location, with a long-term plan to move into a standalone restaurant space.

The menu will feature Thai street food such as pad thai and pad see ew, prepared with a commitment to authentic Thai cooking.

“Our main concept is that we will use the same ingredients that we use in Thailand and try to make it the same flavor as our mom's home cooking back in Thailand,” Ekteeraprapa told Business Debut.

If key ingredients cannot be sourced to meet the authentic Thai standard, the team will leave those dishes off the menu, Ekteeraprapa said.

Orders will be available through major delivery apps and directly through the restaurant’s website.

Ekteeraprapa said the name “Khao” means rice in Thai and represents family, friendship, and shared meals.

Ownership Background

Khao is led by owner Natcha Ekteeraprapa, who has prior experience in New York City’s Thai restaurant scene at Soothr Thai.

She now plans to build Khao first in Decatur and then expand to additional cities and states over time.

Opening Timeline

Ekteeraprapa said the concept recently passed inspection at Decatur Food Hub and is waiting on remaining approvals, including from the fire department.

“It should be around no more than two weeks,” she said.
