DADE COUNTY

Melting Pot

FFBW conducted an interview with Front Burner Brands CEO, Bob Johnston, to get Melting Pot's vision for the coming year.

BROWARD COUNTY

That's A Wrap Sandwich Co. & Juice Bar

Franchisee Russell Justin shared that a new location of That's a Wrap Sandwich Company and Juice Bar is opening in Davie. The brand has several locations throughout South Florida and is planning to open this new unit soon.

Justin reported that they are finished with construction and are primarily waiting to complete filings and paperwork. That's a Wrap will open at: 3890 Davie Rd #110, Davie, FL 33314.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Bungalow

A new indoor / outdoor concept is coming to Boynton Beach from Last Call Hospitality Group, general manager Glenn Schwartz told FFBW. Bungalow will feature three bars, food and live music.

The new concept is planning to open in July, Schwartz said. They will have a large outdoor area that will be half shaded, while the other half will be for relaxing in the sunlight. Bungalow will also feature three bars: a main bar, the outdoor bar, and a cabana bar.

The food will be served out of the Bungalow food truck. Schwartz reported that they are still ironing out the menu at this time.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Sauce Gods Wingz and Thingz

A new food truck is opening in Fort Pierce soon, owner Xavier Alexander told FFBW. Sauce Gods Wingz and Thingz will be Alexander's first food truck.

The business is set to open in June, Alexander said. He will serve wings, seafood, fries, collard greens, candied yams, mac and cheese and more. The chicken wings will be tossed in Alexander's own sauces as well.

Once opened, Sauce Gods will sit at the corner of Avenue Q and 25th Street in Fort Pierce. Find them there on the weekends.

BREVARD COUNTY

Super Duper Burgers and More

Owner Youssef Rachidi shared that he is preparing to open a new food truck in the Melbourne area. Super Duper Burgers and More is planning to bring burgers, fries and onion rings to the coast.

Rachidi said that Super Duper Burgers and More will debut very soon. Once opened, he will attend events and festivals throughout the area.

LAKE COUNTY

CaliYaki

A new food truck from a local private chef is debuting in the Clermont area, owner Caleb Wiley, aka Chef Cali, told FFBW. CaliYaki will be a hibachi style food truck serving a fusion of delicious cuisines.

Chef Cali reported that they will open very soon. CaliYaki is just waiting on final licensing and permitting approvals before debuting officially. The truck will serve dishes like: fried rice, chow mein (dubbed CaliYaki Noodles), fried chicken, coconut shrimp and much more.

OSCEOLA COUNTY

The Smoked Guys

The Smoked Guys have been generating a following as a pop up in the Orlando area, and owners Jennifer and Francisco Herrera told FFBW that they are moving into a food truck.

Planning to debut this summer, The Smoked Guys will continue to serve their smoked picanha burgers, gyros, fries and more. The Herrera's said that once they open, they will primarily serve food in the incoming Food Truck Park Orlando. Additionally, they are looking to appear in Food Trucks Heaven in Kissimmee.

The Herreras expect to open in June. Follow them online.

ORANGE COUNTY

Rajdhani Express

A new addition to the Great Southern Box Food Hall will be Rajdhani Express, owner Amit Singh told FFBW. The culinary program of Rajdhani Express will be helmed by Singh's father, Shambhu Singh.

Restaurant owners in Omaha, Nebraska, the Singh's have had the honor of cooking for guests such as Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India. The details of the story are available in this article from 3 News Now.

Rajdhani Express will open later this month, Singh said, in the Great Southern Box Food Hall at: 2105 N Orange Blossom Trl, Orlando, FL 32804. Their menu will be focused on North Indian cuisine. Expect food suited for dignitaries.

VOLUSIA COUNTY

Fresh Chix

A new food trailer is coming to the Pierson and Ormond Beach area this summer, owner Brenna Kastis told FFBW.

While still earlier on in the process, Kastis is planning to open in July. The trailer will start out by serving breakfast and lunch foods on the weekends at events in Ormond Beach and Pierson.

The exact menu is still under development, but the best way to keep track of the brand is via their Facebook.

PINELLAS COUNTY

Nun on the Run: Stella's Wine and Gourmet Shop

A new retail shop is coming to Gulfport via local business owner Barbara Nanno. Nun on the Run: Stella's Wine and Gourmet Shop is looking to open this summer.

2 Chic's Chili

A new food trailer is coming to the Pinellas Park area via a mother and daughter duo Gail and Christina Kelley.

2 Chic's Chili will open in a matter of weeks, Gail Kelley said. They will offer an array of chili-centric dishes, like chili dogs, chili cheese fries, bowls of chili and more.

Once operational, they will find events and festivals to pop up at, and they will find regular locations to stake out at too. Follow 2 Chic's Chili on Instagram to keep up to date with future plans.

HILLSBOROUGH & POLK COUNTY

Metro Diner

The nationwide chain Metro Diner is preparing to open two new locations soon, Joint Venture Partner Shawn Pollard told FFBW.

The first of the two locations will be in Brandon, at: 1903 W Lumsden Rd, Brandon, FL 33511. Pollard said that they are aiming for an end of September opening timeline.

The other will be in Lakeland at: 5295 Florida Ave S, Lakeland, FL 33813. The marketing department for Metro Diner shared that they aim to open this unit in Q4 of this year.

Florida Smashburger

A new food truck has recently opened in Tampa, owner Chris Bendolph told FFBW.

Florida Smashburger is a new, veteran-owned food truck serving smash burgers, fries, milkshakes and more to Tampa residents at: 501 E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33604.

Bendolph reported that they will be at the above address every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They are hosting their grand opening tomorrow.

Chicha Hut

A new Filipino food truck is opening in the greater Tampa area soon, co-owner Lalaine Ogilby told FFBW. Chicha Hut will be run by Lalaine and her husband, Joseph.

Chicha Hut will serve a variety of Filipino dishes; however, a focus for the brand is to provide natural, clean foods that are free of MSG. They will also be including the nutrient-dense moringa vegetable in their dishes.

The brand is expected to soft open in June and host a grand opening in July. Follow them on Facebook to find out where they will host their events.

PASCO COUNTY

Five Guys

Sarasota Seven Burgers franchising group is opening two more Five Guys this year with several more in the pipeline. Read the article.


Papa Dance Vegan Cuisine

A new vegan food truck is preparing to debut in Zephyrhills by the end of the month. Owner Wayne Telesford shared that Papa Dance Vegan Cuisine is nearly ready to debut.

The truck will be open 6 days a week at: 37422 State Rd 54, Zephyrhills, FL 33542. Expect to enjoy plant based renditions of burritos, empanadas, tacos, salads, sweet potato fries and daily specials.

2 Guys Grilling

A new 24' BBQ trailer is preparing to open soon in Hudson, owner Matthew Montano told FFBW. Montano, in addition to being a business owner and BBQ chef, runs a YouTube channel showcasing his creations.

2 Guys Grilling is expected to open in a month or so, Montano said. The trailer will serve all manner of BBQ and will also offer sides like baked beans, mac and cheese and other similar items.

Additionally, Montano has a custom offset smoker business under the 2 Guys Grilling umbrella, and he's readying his own smoker on the 24' porch-style trailer.

DUVAL COUNTY

Max's Restaurant

The first Florida location of Max's Restaurant is coming to Jacksonville this winter. Franchisee Nelson Soriano shared a few quick details with FFBW.

Max's Restaurant is an international restaurant that specializes in serving Filipino cuisine. Soriano reported that this location will be Florida's first, and it will debut at: 903 University Blvd N #907, Jacksonville, FL 32211.

The new restaurant is in the pre-construction phase, Soriano said. They expect the finished building to yield space for 140 seats throughout the dining areas.

Honest Indian Cafe & Kwality Ice Creams

A new Indian restaurant and ice cream shop is opening in Jacksonville, co-operator Bala Korlakunta told FFBW. Honest Indian Cafe & Kwality Ice Creams is planning to open later this summer, Korlakunta said.

The new restaurant is under construction at: 9551 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256. The concept will be intended primarily for takeout guests, Korlakunta said. However, there will be seats for around 10 or so people inside should anyone want to sit in.

WALTON COUNTY
