Melting Pot Fondue Coming to Coral Gables and St. Pete

Front Burner Brands is bringing two corporate-owned Melting Pot locations to Florida amid a larger expansion initiative, CEO Bob Johnston shared with FFBW. Melting Pot, established in 1975, has over 90+ restaurants across the country.

Johnston shared that for the past four years, Melting Pot, along with many other restaurant brands, has been adjusting to the new business climate that accompanied Covid. Now, having weathered the storm, Melting Pot is focusing on growth.

The St. Pete location is coming to 695 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33701, St. Pete Rising reported. Johnston said that this location is eyeing an end-of-the-year or early next year opening. They will have over 200 seats inside between indoor, outdoor and bar seating. It will also feature a fresh and contemporary design.

The Coral Gables location is opening at: 320 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134. This location is slated to open in early-to-mid 2025, Johnston said. The exact seat count isn't available currently, but this restaurant will reflect the St. Pete unit in size.

Looking ahead, Melting Pot is opening six franchised locations in other states this year. Johnston reported that they are seeking to grow primarily with franchise partners, but more corporate locations will likely pop up as well.
