A locally-owned ice cream shop is opening in New Port Richey soon, owner Mark Johnson told FFBW. Johnson, with his wife, Carly, are planning to open a community focused, homemade ice cream shop called The Creamery.

The Johnson's are coming to the ice cream world from careers in the medical field. To Mark's surprise, he found that many shops source their ice cream from large manufacturers. This realization was part of the inspiration for the Johnson's. They decided to open a shop offering small batch, homemade ice cream to the New Port Richey community.

"We make each ice cream with love and excitement and in small batches. It's like a microbrewery or micro-distillery, but for ice cream," Mark told FFBW.

The Creamery will offer familiar and loved flavors like chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, cherry and others. However, they will also make unique flavors in house for the more adventurous guests. Johnson said that they may experiment with flavors like: Mexican hot chocolate, Biscoff cookie crunch, Snickers, Kit Kats and more.

The adults can also enjoy alcohol infused flavors like Bailey's Irish Cream, Champagne ice cream and many others.

Johnson estimates that they will open as soon as mid-February. Find them at: 9826 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654.
