Rooted Coffeehouse Bringing Cozy Vibes to Downtown Augusta
The new café will serve handcrafted lattes, smoothie bowls, gourmet toasts, and house-made sandwiches daily.

AUGUSTA, GA – Rooted Coffeehouse, a family-owned coffee shop founded in 2018, is preparing to open its fourth location at 801 Greene St, Augusta, GA 30904. Co-owner Ali Kocher confirmed to Business Debut that the new spot is expected to open by the last week of September. The business is run by a mother-daughter team, with Kocher’s mother, Heather Needles, and her family working together to grow the business.
The Augusta café will carry the same cozy, welcoming atmosphere customers have come to love in Rooted Coffeehouse’s other locations. According to Kocher, “It’s super cozy and it's just going to give you those cozy coffee shop vibes when you think of a coffee shop.”
The new café location spans 1,000–1,500 square feet and features various seating arrangements, including dining tables, bar seating, and comfortable sofas. It will be the perfect place for professionals and students who wish to work while sipping coffee because there will be plenty of outlets available too.
Although the exact hours may change initially, the new store plans to be open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on weekends. Kocher added that they also plan to explore a delivery service for the downtown location to cater to the nearby schools and hospitals.
Menu & Favorites
Guests can look forward to the full coffee bar menu, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and Rooted’s well-loved gourmet toasts and hot sandwiches. Seasonal specials will also rotate across all stores. Fan favorites include the Turkey Brie and the Spicy Chicken sandwiches, items Kocher and her husband personally recommend.

“We use nothing but good ingredients, no extra additives. We try to make everything in-house when we can, and you can taste the quality,” Kocher shared.
About Rooted Coffeehouse
Rooted Coffeehouse was founded in 2018, following the family's relocation from Illinois to Georgia in 2016. Both mom and daughter lack formal business experience, but they share a strong desire to create a welcoming environment and build lasting relationships. Kocher is also a NICU nurse, while her mom is a lifelong homemaker with six children.
Rooted Coffeehouse has become a thriving family-run business, with Kocher’s family working together, reflecting their mutual love for hospitality.
“My mom and I literally ramped it up, and it’s grown so much larger than we would have ever expected. Now our whole family is involved, my dad, my siblings, they're all involved, and it’s been incredible. We see ourselves continuing to grow,” Kocher explained.
