New in Orlando: Ceviche Arigato Bringing Peruvian and Japanese Flavors

Here's the latest in Orlando's exciting restaurant scene.

ORLANDO, FL — Ceviche Arigato plans to open a new 150-seat restaurant in December at 4898 S Kirkman Rd, Orlando, FL 32801, owner Rosemary Batzel told Business Debut. Batzel runs the business with her brother, Roberto Medina, who is also an owner.

The Orlando location will be the third Ceviche Arigato restaurant in Florida. They have locations in Weston and West Palm Beach. The concept centers on a Peruvian and Japanese fusion menu developed from Batzel's family recipes.

The menu will blend Japanese and Peruvian influences, reflecting the owner’s family background. Expect traditional Peruvian dishes alongside sushi incorporating Peruvian-style sauces, plus Japanese-inspired ceviche preparations.

Batzel said some of the restaurant’s strongest sellers include its specialty rolls, including the Miami Heat roll, which features avocado and sauces made with Peruvian yellow and red peppers that are treated to keep the flavor from being overly spicy.

“Peruvian food now is very popular,” Batzel told Business Debut.

The restaurant is designed for about 150 guests and will include a full bar.
“This is what we are oriented to, families,” Batzel told Business Debut. Batzel said frequent visits to Orlando helped shape the decision to open there. She cited the area’s concentration of families and tourism as a strong match for the concept.

Ownership Background

Ceviche Arigato is a family business that traces its recipes back generations. “All the recipes come from my grandfather,” Batzel told Business Debut. She said her mother, uncle, aunt, and cousins all own restaurants. “We are a family of restaurateurs,” Batzel said.

She shared that part of her family is Japanese and part is Peruvian, which led directly to the Peruvian-Japanese fusion focus.

The first Ceviche Arigato opened in Weston. Batzel said the family later launched a second location in Palm Beach County about 12 years ago.

Batzel owns all the restaurants and works closely with her brother and cousin. “We all work in the business,” she said.
