Mitch’s Downtown Bagel Cafe Opening in Coral Gables

The concept will serve New York-style bagels, deli sandwiches, and breakfast favorites.

CORAL GABLES, FL — Mitch’s Downtown Bagel Cafe is planning its fifth location and first Miami-Dade restaurant at 271 Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables, FL 33134. Adam Shidlofsky, whose father Mitchell Shidlofsky helped start the concept, told Business Debut the team is targeting an opening in early 2026.

What to Expect

Mitch’s Downtown is a elevated New York-style bagel shop and deli with house-made bagels, tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad and cream cheeses, Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

The Coral Gables restaurant will have about 28 seats inside and another 16 seats outside. Shidlofsky described the concept as counter service offering an elevated experience with a hospitality being a main focus.

“Once you order at the register, we take care of everything else,” Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

The menu will include bagels, breakfast items, pancakes, chicken cutlet sandwiches, wraps, deli sandwiches and matzo ball soup, Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

Shidlofsky said the goal is for guests to feel transported to New York through the food, music, interior design and pace of service.

“We really want you to transport to New York when you walk through our doors,” Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

Griffin Brackey, a partner, chef and director of operations for the brand, oversees day-to-day operations across the locations, Shidlofsky told Business Debut. Shidlofsky said Brackey has played a pivotal role in improving food quality and operations as the brand continues to grow.

Shidlofsky said the team is excited to bring Mitch’s Downtown to Coral Gables and continue introducing guests to the New York deli experience in Miami-Dade.

“We’re just excited to bring all that and package it in a way and bring it to Coral Gables,” Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

The team is preparing to submit plans for permitting and is targeting a January opening in 2026, Shidlofsky told Business Debut.

Hours

Mitch’s Downtown is expected to open seven days a week. Shidlofsky said planned hours are targeting around 7 a.m. — 3 p.m. during the week, with weekend hours likely around 8 a.m. — 3 p.m. or 8 a.m. — 4 p.m.
