Kitchen Social Expanding into Charlotte

The Ohio-born brand is making plans for North Carolina.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Kitchen Social, the growing Ohio-based brand, is planning to open at 282 S Sharon Amity Rd, Suite 104 and 106B, Charlotte, NC 28211 in Cotswold Village. Founder Brian O'Malley told Business Debut the team is targeting a mid-January 2027 opening.

What to Expect

The Charlotte restaurant will be similar to Kitchen Social’s recently opened Sarasota location, with indoor-outdoor dining, a covered patio and an indoor-outdoor bar, O'Malley told Business Debut.

The space will be about 4,200 square feet and seat about 165 guests between the dining room and patio, O'Malley shared with Business Debut. Guests will enter with the patio to the right, the bar straight ahead, and the dining room and kitchen ahead and to the left.

O'Malley described the restaurant as light, bright, airy and comfortable, with a polished casual feel.

“There’s something for everybody in the restaurant, and the feel of the restaurant, the design of the restaurant caters to that,” O'Malley told Business Debut.

Kitchen Social serves a scratch-made menu with Indian, Asian, Mexican and Italian influences, along with steaks, seafood, burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos and pizzas, O'Malley told Business Debut.

O'Malley said the menu has about 35 items and is designed to “eliminate the no vote.” The restaurant makes items including pizza dough and biscuits in-house.
Menu highlights include Korean barbecue cauliflower, crispy Thai shrimp, Thai chicken bowl, Szechuan noodles, grilled salmon, miso salmon, pimento cheeseburger, chicken sausage pizza and chicken katsu, O'Malley told Business Debut.

The cheddar scallion biscuits are one of the brand’s most popular items. O'Malley said about 60% of tables order the biscuits, which are served with house-made honey butter.

Growth Plans

Kitchen Social currently has five locations in Ohio and recently opened in Sarasota, Florida, O'Malley told Business Debut. Business Debut previously reported that the Sarasota restaurant is the brand’s first Florida location.

O'Malley said Kitchen Social is also under construction in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with plans to open there in August. The company is also planning a location in Indianapolis, targeting April 2027.
