Coming Soon Miami: Naz's Halal [Franchisee Interview]

This will be the brand's first brick and mortar in Miami, with more to come.

MIAMI, FL – Naz's Halal is planning a new restaurant at 12500 SW 88th St, Miami, FL 33186, franchisee Hussan Ali told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.

Ali said this Kendall-area spot will be his 10th Naz's Halal location and his second in Florida, with another restaurant already operating in the Tampa region.

Naz's Halal began as a Queens, New York, halal food cart founded by three childhood friends. The brand's mission is to serving authentic New York–style halal food with a focus on fresh ingredients and consistent recipes.

What to Expect

Ali said the Miami location is in the permitting phase and that he is finalizing a general contractor. He expects the restaurant build-out to begin after approvals are secured.

The concept centers on a fast-casual format built around grilled meats, rice platters and sandwiches that reflect the brand’s New York halal cart origins.

Ali has an area development agreement for the Miami market and plans to open three to four additional Naz's Halal locations in the area over time, he told Business Debut.

Naz's Halal specializes in marinated chicken, gyro and lamb over rice, along with wraps, cheesesteaks and wings. The menu also includes vegetarian options and sides such as fries and salads.

Ali pointed to the classic chicken over rice as both the most popular order and his personal favorite. “We just introduced our new spicy rice, which replaces our regular basmati with a spicier blend, so it has a little more flavor,” Ali told Business Debut. “Right now that’s my go-to, the chicken over rice with spicy rice.”

Opening Timeline

Ali said the Miami location is slated to open by the end of the year, pending permits and construction. “We’re hoping to break ground late August or early September,” Ali shared.

He estimated a three to four month build-out once construction begins, if the process moves on schedule. A specific opening date remains to be announced.
