We've got a short and sweet round up for you today. Here are three new restaurants or cafes that are coming soon that should be on your radar.
My Village Play Cafe — Cape Coral
Address: 1109 Del Prado Blvd S Unit 2, Cape Coral, FL 33990
Status: Targeting an opening in about two to three months, pending permitting.
What to expect: Indoor play cafe designed for parents and young children. The concept combines a cafe at the front of the space with an indoor playground in the back, giving parents a place to sit, work, drink coffee and supervise their children.
Space details: The total footprint is more than 3,400 square feet. The cafe area will include booths, tables and a bar counter facing the playground, while cameras in the play area will livestream to a television inside the cafe.
Menu highlights: Coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, specialty lattes, matcha, panini, dino nuggets for children, chips, fruit cups and packaged snacks. My Village Play Cafe also plans to partner with a local bakery for desserts.
More to know: The play area will focus on pretend play for young children. The space will also be available for birthday parties and milestone events.
Who’s behind it: Carolina and Zavier Bravo. Carolina Bravo’s background includes work as a labor and delivery nurse and pediatric case manager.
Tacos & Tequila Cantina — Cape Coral
Address: 903 NE 15th Place, Suite 130, Cape Coral, FL 33909
Status: Targeting a public opening about two weeks from the interview, pending final inspections.
What to expect: New Cape Coral location for Tacos & Tequila Cantina, joining existing restaurants in Naples and Estero. Director of operations Billy Pfaff described the concept as vibrant and energetic, with a menu mixing Tex-Mex, American-influenced tacos and traditional Mexican dishes.
Menu highlights: Cheeseburger taco with ground sirloin, shredded cheese, queso, lettuce, tomato and pickle; the Backyard taco with slow-roasted pulled pork, caramelized onions, barbecue sauce and fried pickles; and a Sunday taco built around buttermilk fried chicken.
Traditional options: Carne asada, chorizo and shrimp street-style tacos with cilantro, onions, radish and lime, plus enchiladas, burritos and sizzling fajitas.
Drink highlights: The bar program will feature more than 140 tequilas.
Space details: The restaurant will seat about 130 guests inside, including bar seating. A private dining room will sit behind a large tequila display wall and can be used for business lunches, celebrations and other events.
Who’s behind it: Owners Kelly and Aldo Musico, who also operate Aldo’s Italian Table and Bar.

Burrito Shak — Cape Coral
Address: 1200 Solaris Dr. #305, Cape Coral, FL 33909
Status: Targeting an opening on or around August 1.
What to expect: First Florida location for Burrito Shak, bringing the coastal Mexican fast-casual brand into the Cape Coral market. The restaurant will use a build-your-own service line where guests can watch items prepared in front of them.
Menu highlights: Burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and nachos with proteins including chicken, steak, ground beef and shrimp. The team plans to source shrimp locally when available.
Space details: The restaurant will occupy about 1,800 square feet with roughly 45 seats. The design will have a coastal feel with blue and white tones, surfboard decor and a casual layout.
Service style: Guests will be able to dine in, take out or use a pickup window for call-ahead orders.
Community angle: The restaurant is family and veteran owned. The owners plan to engage with veterans and first responders, including a dedicated in-store area where first responders can leave patches or memorabilia.
Hours: Planned Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Who’s behind it: Owners Antoinette Basso, Phil Basso and Vito Basso. Victoria Pereira, daughter of the ownership group, will support social media, hiring and community outreach.
