Here are two businesses that are planning to debut soon in Cape Coral and Bokeelia.
We've reported on several restaurants that are planning to debut in Lee County, but here are two local businesses that have plans to open soon.
Business Debut carefully interviews each business owner we report on to bring you the information below. You will see when we last spoke with them. Be mindful that opening dates can get delayed occasionally.
Coconut Island Market — Bokeelia
Address: 7573 Raymary St, Units A-B, Bokeelia, FL 33922
Status: As of our interview with owner Gabriella Ortiz on April 9th of this year, Coconut Island Market was already open as a convenience-style market and was targeting mid-May for the launch of hot food service.
What to expect: The Bokeelia market will continue operating as a convenience-style shop while adding quick-service food for grab-and-go customers. Ortiz said the food addition was being planned in response to local workers looking for fast lunch options. Ordering ahead for pickup is expected, and outdoor seating may be added in the future.
Menu highlights: Planned hot food items include tacos, hamburgers, burritos, fruit cups, and aguas frescas. The market also carries snacks, drinks, household essentials, and Mexican ice cream bars in a variety of flavors.
Hours: As of our April 9th interview, food service was expected to run daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., though hours may adjust over time.
Who’s behind it: Owner Gabriella Ortiz. Her sister, Niurica Ortiz, is also preparing to open Elegancia Beauty Spa in a neighboring unit, with a June debut planned.
Coffee Rush — Cape Coral
Address: 1189 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33991
Status: As of our interview with owner Tessa Yost on March 12th of this year, Coffee Rush was targeting a late May or early June opening for its Cape Coral location.
What to expect: The Cape Coral shop will be the brand’s second Florida location, following its Fort Myers debut. Coffee Rush is a drive-thru coffee concept built around speed, convenience, and personal service. The location will include two drive-thru lanes, in-person order taking while customers are in line, walk-up windows, and a small outdoor seating area for about four to five guests.
Menu highlights: Expect customizable coffee drinks made with premium ingredients, including Ghirardelli chocolate powders and caramel. White chocolate mochas and caramel drinks are among the brand’s popular options. The menu will also include breakfast sandwiches, such as bacon, egg and cheese or sausage, plus baked goods from regional partners including Nino’s Bakery in Punta Gorda.
Hours: As of our March 12th interview, planned hours were Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Who’s behind it: Owner Tessa Yost. Coffee Rush was founded by Ron and Lisa Yost in Oregon in 1992 and has grown to eight locations in the Portland metropolitan area. Tessa Yost is helping lead the brand’s Florida expansion, with six to seven additional locations planned across the state over the next year.
