Pinsa Fire Opening in Downtown Leesburg
Pinsa Fire will open on Main Street in a 600 square foot building.
LEESBURG, FL — Pinsa Fire, a Roman-style pizza concept based in Clermont, plans to open a flagship location at 404 West Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748, owner Thomas Cerra told Business Debut in a phone interview.
Cerra said he purchased the downtown Leesburg building in September 2025 and has since led a full renovation. The space has sat vacant for over 18 years.
What to Expect
The Leesburg restaurant will occupy the less than 600 square foot building. “It is only ten feet wide, and then it goes back sixty feet deep,” Cerra said.
Cerra said the team has replaced the roof, plumbing, water lines, and electrical systems in the 1940s-era structure. He said they also made the building accessible to people with disabilities.
“We were excited to be able to keep some of that character and give it a nice facelift and bring it back to life,” Cerra reported.
Menu and Vision
Pinsa Fire focuses on Roman-style pizza, also known as pinsa, which Cerra described as lighter and airier than other pizza crusts, with less gluten and a longer fermentation process.
“Our dough is non GMO,” he said. The dough and fermentation process appeal to guests with dietary restrictions.
“The only thing we do is pinsa,” Cerra told Business Debut. The current Clermont menu ranges from cheese and pepperoni to signature combinations such as vegan pies, a fig and prosciutto pizza, and a lemon pesto chicken pizza, and more.
The Leesburg kitchen will be larger than the Clermont kiosk in a food hall. He plans to bring all production in house and then expand the menu over time. Cerra said he expects to grow the salad offerings and is considering adding garlic knots.
Ownership Background
Cerra launched Pinsa Fire in downtown Clermont just over three years ago. The Leesburg project represents an expansion of that original location. When he first toured the West Main Street building, Cerra said he immediately saw its potential.
“I saw a pizza place,” Cerra told Business Debut. He said the building had become a “wallflower” in downtown Leesburg after years without an active business. “When something starts becoming forgotten, it stops being loved,” Cerra said. “So we are putting a lot of love back into the building more than anything.”
Opening Timeline
Cerra is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for opening. A specific opening date is to be announced.
