DADE COUNTY
The Love Loaf
Three years in the making, Suzana Rodrigues is bring The Love Loaf to a permanent location in Miami Beach. Following a 20 year career in corporate finance, Rodrigues decided to follow her passion and turn her attention fully to baking healthy and delicious bread.
In a brief interview with FFBW, Rodrigues reported that her new shop is debuting in early May at: 7415 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141. The bakery will serve artisanal sourdough breads, pastries, cakes and more. For beverages, The Love Loaf will offer organic coffee, espresso, cappuccino, matcha and more.
The business will be milling its owner flower in house to ensure maximum freshness.
As the The Love Loaf gets established, Rodrigues will add menu items like avocado toast, sandwiches and other light bites. Follow the brand online and keep up with their goal to open on May 1st.

BROWARD COUNTY
La Birra Bar
A new location of the Argentinian brand La Birra Bar is opening in Oakland Park, co-franchisee Vicente Cordero told FFBW. La Birra Bar has two other locations (under different ownership) in South Florida, and this restaurant is planning to debut this July.
Cordero reported that there will be two phases of the opening. The soft opening is scheduled for July and will introduce the public to a scaled-back version of the business. They will start with serving beer and wine with a full bar rolling out shortly thereafter.
Additionally, the restaurant will host 60 diners at a time, but they are also expanding into an outdoor patio area that will add more seats.
This location is planning to debut at: 2031 E Oakland Park Blvd, Oakland Park, FL 33306. Another unit is in the works for Weston, but that one isn't planned to open until the end of the year.
La Birra Bar is known for their delicious burgers. They recently were voted best burgers in Miami according to the Miami New Times.
Mr. Hibachi
A new food truck is getting started in Hollywood and downtown Fort Lauderdale, owner Eddie Robinson told FFBW. Mr. Hibachi serves the afternoon and late-night crowd every weekend, Robinson reported.
The menu consists of hibachi-style rice, chicken, shrimp and steak. Additionally, they offer classic American fare like chicken wings, burgers and fries.
From Friday-Sunday, Mr. Hibachi sets up at: 808 S Dixie Hwy, Hollywood, FL 33020. The truck stays there from 1 - 9:30 pm before going to downtown Fort Lauderdale from 9:30 pm - 3:30 am or until sell out.

PALM BEACH COUNTY
Golden Grill Food and Catering
A local entrepreneur is opening his first business in the West Palm Beach area as soon as next month.
Owner Jose De Los Santos-Guzman reported to FFBW that he plans to serve Latin and American fusion from Golden Grill Food and Catering. The truck is nearly complete, Santos-Guzman said. He expects to open in mid-May.
Currently, he's scouting for locations to set up the truck. Once opened, he plans to operate a minimum of five days a week. Look out for Golden Grill Food and Catering soon.
ST. LUCIE COUNTY
The Kitty Cup Cat Cafe
A new cat adoption cafe is opening in Port St. Lucie next month, owner Melony Zaravelis told FFBW. The Kitty Cup, Zaravelis reported, is proudly partnered with the Humane Society of Treasure Coast and the Humane Society of Port St. Lucie.
The cafe is under construction at: 1461 SW Gatlin Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953. Zaravelis reported that they will likely open in mid-May if all continues smoothly.
The business will have two distinct purposes: connecting cat lovers with foster cats looking for a permanent home; and they'll offer a delicious food and beverage program to the cat lovers in the area.
The Kitty Cup will have a 600 square foot Cat Room in which they will host up to 20 cats available for adoption. Zaravelis recommends reserving a time to enter the room, but walk-up visitors are welcomed if slots are available. Admission to the room will be $15.

LEE COUNTY
Piled High Friezz
What was a food stand feeding the construction workers after hurricane Ian has moved into a trailer on Fort Myers Beach, owner Pam Shank told FFBW. Piled High Fries is bringing customizable gourmet fries to the island.
Shank, originally from Detroit, Michigan, moved to Fort Myers Beach just before the strike of hurricane Ian. To afford temporary housing, Shank opened a food stand on the side of San Carlos Blvd and provided breakfast burritos, burgers and hot dogs to the construction workers cleaning up the wreckage. This was before she could sell the food and had to rely on donations and tips from her customers.
Determined to maintain her dream of living in Florida, she began offering food at a strip club across the street that was operating out of a tent as well. As her popularity grew, she got a trailer and is now staked out at: 163 Old San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931, where she operates Tuesday - Sunday.
Twisted Turtle
A new food truck is opening soon to establish the Twisted Turtle brand while their restaurant is pending approval from the city of Fort Myers Beach. The food truck is planning to debut in about 3o days, co-owner Kory Nanke told FFBW.
The truck and restaurant will open at: 6425 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931, the former home of Beach Theater, Nanke said. The truck will offer menu items like: smash burgers, grouper sandwiches, tacos and more. They will have outdoor seating for about 60 guests.
ORANGE COUNTY
Mama Monses
A new food truck is coming to Orlando area soon, co-owner Michael Ruiz told FFBW. Mama Monses is coming via owners Michael Ruiz and Monse Cruz.
The truck will serve Spanish and American fusion with some specials and other cuisines sprinkled in. Expect dishes like pollo guisado, ropa vieja, burgers, ribs with a house-made marinade, flan and much more.
The brand has their first event scheduled for mid-May. They plan to operate seven days a week once opened.
Keep an eye out for them around Orlando in a few weeks.
LAKE COUNTY
Pig-N-Out
A new food truck is opening in Lake County soon, owner Sebastian Townsend told FFBW. Pig-N-Out will appear at various events and in a semi-regular location.
Pig-N-Out will open as soon as next week, Townsend said. They will serve Phillies, burgers, hot dogs, fried mozzarella, okra, fries and mushrooms. Townsend will frequently appear at: 200 E Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL 32778. He plans to open there a couple of days a week from 11:30 am - 6 pm.
On other days, he will attend events, flea markets and other gathering places.
Watch out for Pig-N-Out soon.
PINELLAS COUNTY
Sun Cones
A new soft serve ice cream shop is opening in the Tyrone Square Mall this summer, co-owner John Marston told FFBW. Sun Cones is coming to St Petersburg via Martson and his business partner, Peter Schwab.
Sun Cones will provide soft-serve, milkshakes and other similar treats to mall goers. This is the brand's first location, and Marston has a growth outlook for Sun Cones.
Schwab and Marston haven't landed on a firm opening date yet. They are still readying their space at: 6901 22nd Ave N #122, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
Once opened, their hours of operations will reflect those of Tyrone Square Mall: 11am - 8pm Monday - Thursday; Friday - Saturday 10am - 9pm; and 11am - 7pm on Sundays.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY
Plant City Comic Cafe
A new comic book store and snack bar is planning to debut in Plant City in the next couple of months, co-owner Michelle Ervin told FFBW. The business is coming the area via Ervin and her husband, Sherrick, who is a comic book enthusiast.
Plant City Comic Cafe will offer a rotating and curated selection of comics and a snack bar that serves American and Asian foods. The goal is to provide a space for comic book readers to find new reading material and to have delicious snacks and meals.
Expect to enjoy burgers, wings, instant ramen, kimbap, rice balls and more. Ervin indicated that they are still ironing out the menu and other items may be added as well. Ervin will also include handmade teas and lemonades, coffee, boba and other beverages.
The business will likely operate six days a week from 11 am - 7 pm. They expect to employ two full-time and two part-time employees initially.

PASCO COUNTY
Shake-A-Salad
A new location for Shake-A-Salad is opening in New Port Richey, co-owner Ryan Maisel told FFBW. This will be Maisel and his wife's, Leighann's, second restaurant in the Shake-A-Salad brand.
A disabled 9/11 responder, Maisel and his family moved from New York and wanted to bring some of the delicious salads they loved from back home. Maisel reported that they make their own dressings, slice the freshest produce daily, don't used any preservatives and take food safety and handling seriously.
Original Mustard Seed BBQ
An Atlanta-area barbecue restaurant is expanding its business in Lutz, owner Bert McCray told FFBW. Original Mustard Seed BBQ is opening a food truck first with a brick and mortar location to follow.
The truck will serve coal and wood fired BBQ, McCray said. He has the goal of changing how people conceive of BBQ; instead of cooking for hours in smokers, McCray cooks with charcoal and open flame rather quickly. They specialize in brisket, ribs, chicken and pulled pork.
The truck is planning to debut in May. Currently, McCray is looking for a permanent spot to station the truck. It will operate Thursday - Sunday initially.
A location for the brick and mortar hasn't been selected yet, but McCray is looking to place the truck and the restaurant along Bruce B Downs Blvd.

Suns of Beaches
A new food truck is coming to New Smyrna Beach very soon, owner Mike Kelly told FFBW. Mike is embarking on the new business with his partner, Jess Norris. Together, they are bringing a new concept with a wide selection of delicious offerings.
Suns of Beaches will serve menu items like BBQ sandwiches topped with their SOB sauce, quesadillas, and their SOB burgers. Additionally, they'll offer fries, tots, hot dogs and much more. The Suns of Beaches brand will also offer catering for events and weddings.
Kelly shared that they will mostly travel to events and festivals, but the truck will also find places where they can hang out regularly to sell their food.
The truck is operational now and is expected to begin serving food any day! Follow them online and on their Facebook.
ALACHUA COUNTY
352 Munchies
A new husband and wife team are coming together to open a food truck in the coming months, co-owner Julie Franklin told FFBW. 352 Munchies will be a mobile unit that travels to events and festivals around the Gainesville area.
The husband Mike Deeghan will be the chef, and Julie will handle the front of house operations. The menu, while still in development, will consist of Philly cheesesteaks, Cuban sandwiches, wings, fries and more.
The couple is waiting on final regulatory sign-off to open. They plan to debut in two months. Once opened, they will operate 5-6 days a week, taking a day or two off mid-week.

LEON COUNTY
5Pounds
Jamaican restaurateur O'Neil Richards is bring a new organic restaurant to Tallahassee soon. 5Pounds will specialize in serving Jamaican cuisine, Richards said, and he plans to open early next month.
To start, they will have limited staff and hours. They will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 am - 7 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and on Friday they will stay open until 8 pm.

DUVAL COUNTY
Checkers and Tikka Bowls and Tacos
Entrepreneur and franchisee Krupal Patel shared with FFBW that he and his business partner Pritesh Patel are preparing to expand their presence in the Jacksonville market an beyond.
The pair are opening another location of Checkers this fall, Patel shared. Following that, they expect to open two more locations of their brand Tikka Bowls and Tacos before the end of the year.
Patel shared that the new Checkers is waiting on architectural permits to be approved and impact fees to be finalized at: 9555 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221. If progress continues normally, they will open in October.
An exact addresses for the Tikka and Tacos locations aren't available yet, but we know that one restaurant will go to Downtown Jacksonville and the other will open on San Jose Boulevard.
The Tikka Bowls and Tacos brand has begun franchising, Patel reported. They recently opened a franchised location in Arlington, TX and have another on the way in Fort Worth, TX. They're also finalizing a lease with a franchisee in the Orlando area, Patel said. Other Central Florida locations are under development as well.
Overall, but the end of the year, they expect to have 8-10 locations opened.
