SARASOTA, FL — Two Shores Cafe, a new Uruguayan bakery and coffee shop from owners Valeria Bobra and Milton Rodriguez, is opening at 7321 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243, Bobra told Business Debut in a phone interview.
Bobra said she and Rodriguez were born and raised in Uruguay. "When we moved to Sarasota, Florida, there was nothing here from our country, so we wanted to bring part of our culture to this place," Bobra told Business Debut.
What to Expect
Two Shores Cafe will operate as a neighborhood bakery and coffee shop.
Bobra said the cafe will offer counter-service coffee and Uruguayan pastries. She said she and her husband live two blocks from the shop and will oversee baking and preparation.
The owners plan to start with a team of four employees. Bobra said they may add a fifth employee within the first couple of weeks.
She said the menu will feature Uruguayan pastries and breads that she feels customers in Sarasota have not seen. "We want to offer delicious coffees," Bobra told Business Debut, adding that the goal is to introduce more people in the area to Uruguayan food culture.
Opening Timeline
Bobra said Two Shores Cafe plans a first day of service this Saturday from 7 a.m. — 3 p.m.
She said the owners plan to offer free coffee and one pastry per person on opening day. "We want them to learn about our culture," Bobra told Business Debut.
Hours
Following the opening day, Bobra said regular hours are planned for Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. — 5 p.m.
Sunday hours are planned for 7 a.m. — noon.
