New in PSL: Kinfolks Biscuit Company Opening Soon

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL — Kinfolks Biscuit Company plans to open a full-service Southern brunch and weekend dinner restaurant targeting early to mid-November at 723 SW Port St Lucie Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953, owner Willie Roundtree told Business Debut.

The concept expands the Kinfolks brand, which Roundtree launched in 2018 to serve Southern comfort dishes. The new Port St. Lucie restaurant will become the group’s third operating location.

What to Expect

Kinfolks Biscuit Company will offer full-service dining with about 50 seats indoors and on the patio. The restaurant will serve breakfast, brunch and lunch during the week, then shift into a broader Southern dinner menu on weekends. Beer, wine, mimosas and Bellinis will be available.

Roundtree described the concept as “bringing grandma's house to your table” and said he wants families to gather over hearty plates that feel like holiday meals.

Planned brunch items include salmon croquette patties with eggs and grits, smothered chicken with grits, fish and grits with Cajun cream sauce, and oxtails and grits, Roundtree said.

A chicken biscuit built from Kinfolks’ existing chicken sandwich will be a core item.

For Friday through Sunday dinner service, the menu will feature oxtails, pot roast, short ribs, meatloaf and fried chicken, Roundtree said. He described the approach as an elevated, creative brunch and dinner space that reflects concepts he has seen in larger cities like Charlotte and Atlanta.

Ownership Background

Roundtree started Kinfolks in 2018 after seeing limited access to Southern cooking in the coastal Florida markets where he lived and traveled.

“We wanted to bring something to the community that's missing,” he told Business Debut. He said holiday gatherings and family events shaped his view of Southern food as a cultural anchor.

He said the guiding mantra for Kinfolks Biscuit Company is taking “the love, the flavor, and the hospitality of grandma's house” and giving it a fresh experience for today’s community.

Opening Timeline

Roundtree said ceiling installation is underway at the Port St. Lucie site and he is targeting an opening around November 1, with some flexibility into mid-November.
