ATLANTA, GA – Jamaican Jerk Biz Buckhead plans to open later this month at 2625 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30324, adding a third location for the concept, owner Ayanna Chambers told Business Debut in a recent interview.

Chambers launched the Jamaican jerk biz brand after the pandemic, beginning on a table outside a friend's business in downtown Atlanta, she shared with Business Debut. The business later operated a food truck before moving into brick-and-mortar restaurants in Mableton and East Point.

What to Expect

The Buckhead space is about 1,600 square feet and will offer dine-in and takeout service, Chambers told Business Debut. She described the setting as relaxed and casual, with music and space for conversation. Beer and wine are planned, including rum punch and other mixed drinks.

Chambers said she wants the restaurant to be a place where guests can “come chill, have good food, maybe get a mixed drink” and then “take on tomorrow.” She plans to open even if initial service focuses on takeout while she waits on furniture and decor.

The menu will center on Jamaican dishes, including jerk chicken, oxtails and rasta pasta. Chambers said jerk chicken, rasta pasta and oxtails are the most-ordered items at her existing locations. Influencer Keith Lee rated the rasta pasta highly, at 9 out of 10, she said.

Jerk seasoning is made in-house with a homemade marinade, Chambers told Business Debut. She said the recipe emphasizes the flavors of jerk and can be prepared with more heat by request.

Chambers said she is focused on building the brand and would like to eventually bring her green seasoning, all-purpose seasoning and marinades into supermarkets. She is also weighing future locations in other states, depending on staffing.

Opening Timeline

Chambers is targeting an opening on June 18 or June 20, pending final inspections. She said the team hopes to be operating in time for World Cup demand in the area.
