ORLANDO, FL — Hula Mula, an all-day European cafe concept founded by Steven Lorenz, is targeting a late summer opening at 201 S. Orange Ave, Suite 105, Orlando, FL 32801.

Lorenz, who owns and operates the concept alongside his wife Ramona Reilen, told Business Debut this will be the brand’s first U.S. location, following two existing locations in Germany.

What to Expect

Hula Mula is positioned as an all-day European cafe. “We are more internationally… bringing the world together here,” Lorenz told Business Debut, noting the concept blends influences from multiple countries.

The fast-casual space will offer a mix of counter service and QR code ordering, with approximately 50 seats inside and additional patio seating bringing total capacity to just over 100. Lorenz said the downtown location includes access to a large plaza, which will be used for outdoor seating, events, and live music.

The concept is designed to serve office workers, residents, and visitors throughout the day, offering a relaxed environment centered on coffee, food, and community.

The menu reflects a broad international approach rather than a single cuisine. Guests can expect Italian-inspired coffee, American bagels, French pastries, and Japanese-influenced sushi offerings, along with globally inspired bowls and light fare.

While some Hawaiian-inspired items like poke bowls will be available, Lorenz emphasized that the brand is not Hawaiian. “We do have some Hawaiian-inspired dishes… but we’re actually not Hawaiian,” he told Business Debut.

Lorenz said the decision to expand to Florida was driven by a long-standing personal connection to the state and its sense of community. He told Business Debut he had wanted to move to Florida for more than 20 years, and after introducing his wife Ramona Reilen to the area, they both felt strongly about making the move.

“We just love everything about Florida, the communities, the people that really come together,” Lorenz told Business Debut, adding that they see an opportunity to bring a concept centered on connection and gathering to downtown Orlando.

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting a late summer opening, potentially around August, pending construction progress, Lorenz told Business Debut.

Hours

Hours are still being finalized, but the cafe is expected to operate daily from approximately 7–7:30 a.m. until 6–6:30 p.m.
