Coming Soon in Plantation: Neo Coffee and Kava [Sneak Peak]

PLANTATION, FL – Neo Coffee and Kava, a new coffee and kava bar focused on wellness and socializing without alcohol, is targeting an opening in the first week of August at 1483 South University Drive, Plantation, FL 33324, owner Ruth Connors told Business Debut.

Connors described Neo Coffee and Kava as an upscale space that combines a full coffee program, a kava bar, and a health-oriented food menu. The buildout covers about 2,400 square feet in an open layout with two bars and lounge seating, Connors shared with Business Debut in a phone interview. Connors, who owns general contracting and design firm Neo Facto Design, is serving as both contractor and designer on the project.

What to Expect

Connors said her goal is to promote what she called a healthy lifestyle through beverages and food. The menu will feature coffee drinks, kava and what she described as “relaxation drinks,” Connors told Business Debut. A separate program of spirit-free cocktails is also in development, including alcohol-free versions of mojitos, margaritas and other classic cocktails created by a mixologist, she said.

On the food side, Connors said the menu will be high in protein and structured around macronutrients, with each item showing protein, carbohydrates and other key counts. The website menu lists items such as breakfast tacos, avocado toast, grain bowls, salads, sandwiches, wraps and flatbreads. It also highlights açai bowls, protein shakes, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and assorted small plates and snacks.

Connors said she wants guests to be able to eat what she called “the right amount of protein, carbs and everything."

The interior will feature an industrial design with modern finishes, Connors told Business Debut. Seating will include bar seats and couches to accommodate guests who want to work during the day or gather after work.

Connors plans to host live music, including jazz and similar styles, along with small shows and DJs. She said she wants Neo Coffee and Kava to give Plantation residents a place to socialize in a "nice and healthy environment" without alcohol.

Opening Timeline

Connors is targeting the first week of August for opening Neo Coffee and Kava, she told Business Debut. Final menu development and buildout details are still underway.
