Wing Snob Davie Opening in August After Delays, $40K Loss

The franchisee shared how other business owners can avoid issues with their contractors.

DAVIE, FL — Wing Snob franchisee Tarik Beydoun plans to open South Florida's first location 6815 Stirling Road, Davie, FL 33314 in late August after more than a year of construction challenges, Beydoun told Business Debut in a phone interview.

Beydoun said he signed with the Wing Snob franchise in July 2024 and received loan funding in June 2025, but the build-out stretched far beyond expectations. “Since June 2025 up until now, I’ve been trying to get this location open,” Beydoun told Business Debut.

The project timeline and costs changed after what he described as poor contractor performance and missed deadlines. He estimated that contractor issues cost him “ballpark number, 40, 50,000,” along with significant delays.

What to Expect

The Davie restaurant will be the first Wing Snob location in South Florida, according to Beydoun. They offer bone in and boneless options, along with loaded fries, chicken tenders, sandwiches, fan packs for feeding groups, and mini sandwiches.

“I’m a fan of the traditional wings and the boneless,” Beydoun told Business Debut. He said the menu variety stands out for him. “We have such a variety of sauces and dry rubs.”

He was introduced to the brand by a master franchisee he met through his previous work. He said he spoke with multiple franchisees and met the franchisors on the same day. He said the relative cost to develop a Wing Snob store, along with high-growth potential, influenced his decision to franchise with the brand.

Opening Timeline

Beydoun is targeting around August 20 for opening, though he emphasized that the date remains a rough estimate. “If people want to know exactly when, they could check our socials,” he said.

Advice for Restaurant Owners

The extended build-out as a learning experience. Beydoun said he would advise other first-time operators to involve experienced guidance and a construction attorney in their projects.

“If you speak to a construction or a contract lawyer, they could draft stipulations for you as far as the deadlines,” Beydoun told Business Debut. He said clear contractual timelines help keep projects on schedule.

Beydoun also recommended that SBA borrowers ask their lender for contractor recommendations and that new franchisees talk with existing operators in their state about which contractors they used.
