MIAMI, FL — Throw Social Miami is targeting a New Year’s Eve debut at 2335 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127, owner Ginger Flesher-Sonnier told Business Debut.

The team is awaiting final permits, which they expect to receive in mid-December.

What to Expect

Throw Social Miami will open as a large-scale indoor and outdoor entertainment venue with five bars, live music, DJs, games, and rentable cabanas and lounges. The property spans roughly 35,000 square feet, with more than 20,000 square feet outdoors. It will offer about 350 seats across the space.

The venue will feature multiple event-ready areas, including two interior rooms suitable for private parties, corporate gatherings, or weddings. A newly installed motorized pergola will allow year-round use of the outdoor stage and patio.

The menu will mirror the offerings at the Delray Beach location, with a mix of shareables, healthy dishes, and items with a Polynesian influence. Popular selections include the sampler platter, bourbon jerk chicken sandwich, coconut shrimp, and Polynesian lettuce wraps.

Flesher-Sonnier highlighted several guest-favorite drinks, including the Spicy Skinny Cucumber Blueberry Margarita and new shareable cocktails such as the flamingo punch bowl and themed decanters.

Background and Community Roots

Flesher-Sonnier previously worked as a high school math teacher before entering the entertainment industry in 2014. She launched one of the country’s top escape room brands, followed by the world’s first axe-throwing bar in New York City in 2017, later expanding to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

The first Throw Social opened in Washington, D.C. in 2020, followed by the Delray Beach location in 2021. The Miami venue represents her largest project to date and her ninth opening overall.

Ownership and Team

Flesher-Sonnier said her COO, Robert Sweers, has been instrumental throughout the development process and in previous projects.

Her husband, Darren Sonnier, also contributes to the business success, rounding out the team behind the Miami expansion.

Opening Timeline

The team plans to host a New Year’s Eve event regardless of permit timing, with hopes of having all final approvals completed before the holiday.

Hours

The venue will open at noon on weekends with brunch service. Additional hours and operating details are to be announced.
