South Florida Food Truck Opening First Restaurant
Monster Burger is bringing its oversized menu items to a permanent location.
DAVIE, FL — Monster Burger, the South Florida burger concept known for its oversized menu items and long-running food trucks, is planning to open its first brick and mortar restaurant at 2325 S. University Dr., Davie, FL 33324. Owner Claudia Montoya told Business Debut the team is targeting a mid-March opening, with a tentative date of March 15, 2026.
The Davie restaurant marks the next step for the brand, which began as a food truck operation in 2011 and has since grown to two trucks serving events and weekly stops across South Florida.
What to Expect
Monster Burger will operate as a casual counter order restaurant, with staff delivering food directly to tables. The space is being designed to be welcoming for families, with monster-themed decor and interactive elements geared toward children.
The restaurant is expected to seat about 40 guests indoors, pending final approvals. The location is surrounded by Nova Southeastern University and nearby hospitals, areas the Monster Burger food trucks have regularly served for years.
Menu and Vision
The menu centers on three core items: the Monster Burger, Monster Hot Dog, and Monster Fries. The signature Monster Burger features a large beef patty topped with mozzarella cheese, potato chips, and house-made sauces, including pink sauce and pineapple sauce. Chicken and veggie burger options will also be available.
“Monster Burger is one burger. It’s big, it’s fresh and the quality of the meat is really good,” Montoya told Business Debut. “It’s the same idea with the Monster Hot Dog and the Monster Fries. Everything is meant to be fun and generous.”
The concept was originally created by Julio Arcilla, Montoya’s brother-in-law, who previously managed Colombian fast-food restaurants before launching Monster Burger as a food truck.
Ownership and Family Roots
The Davie location is owned by four partners: Claudia Montoya, her sister Diana Montoya, Diana’s husband Julio Arcilla, and Claudia’s husband, Carlos Mosquera.
“This was Julio’s dream from the beginning, from the design to the menu, everything,” Montoya told Business Debut. “We are a family business, and we are all doing this together.”
Opening Timeline
The team is targeting an opening around March 15, 2026. The date is subject to change.
Hours
Monster Burger plans to be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
