YOUNGSVILLE, NC — The Pickled Onion is preparing to open its fifth location at 771 Tarboro Road, Youngsville, NC 27596, owner Gregory Sunday told Business Debut. The team is targeting an opening in late February or early March and is currently focused on hiring and training staff ahead of launch.
What to Expect
Sunday said the Youngsville restaurant is a new build “from the ground up” and will operate as a standalone building, which differs from previous locations that moved into existing restaurant spaces and were remodeled. The Youngsville dining room is expected to seat roughly 185 guests, Sunday said, though he noted the final count is under 200.
Menu and Vision
Sunday said the menu and overall format will match other Pickled Onion locations. The menu includes sharable starters like chicken wings with a wide range of sauces and dry rubs, including buffalo, honey habanero, sweet red chili, lemon pepper, and garlic parmesan.
Other highlights include Cajun-seared ahi tuna with teriyaki and sesame seeds, a meatball trio topped with marinara and melted provolone, and “Crack Fire,” jalapeños stuffed with buffalo chicken dip, wrapped in bacon, and charred.
Guests will also find pickle chips, chili nachos, and fried mac-n-cheese balls served with marinara.
Opening Timeline
Sunday said the team is about three weeks out and is aiming for an end-of-month opening or the beginning of the following month.
