Outside BBQ, a popular takeout spot in Tampa, is planning to open a new location in the area. The business plans a major expansion with a full-service restaurant concept to open before the end of 2025. Although the exact location of the new restaurant is still under wraps, owner Jevonta “Tay” Godwin told Business Debut that the team is in final negotiations and waiting to secure a lease soon.

The upcoming space concept will provide lots of seating and a good ambiance. “We're trying to get that to where there'd be more of an ambiance for our customers,” Godwin said. Customers can expect the same barbecue staples on the menu and full table service with appetizers, desserts, drinks, and cocktails.

Currently, the popular to-go-only Outside BBQ serves guests seven days a week from 11 am – 8 pm at 1613 E Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610. Godwin confirmed they’ll continue operating the food truck and the to-go spot when they debut the full restaurant.

Outside BBQ started as a food truck in Land O’ Lakes in 2021. In April 2024, they opened their takeout storefront and became a local favorite, serving 200 to 300 meals a day, Godwin reported. The current location is still open and operational, and the address for upcoming location will be revealed once the lease is signed.
