Old Cutler Inn, Toro Mambo, Pão na Chapa and More Hospitality News

Welcome back to the restaurant round up, a quick summary of news in the food truck and restaurant business.

DADE COUNTY

Old Cutler Inn

A new American restaurant and bar with a community focus is opening in Miami later this year. Old Cutler Inn is coming to Miami via owners Benjamin and Michelle Pascarella and their investment partner Drew Dorsey, of Bindor Capital Advisors.

The Pascarella's are maintaining a neighborhood-driven focus while executing their plans for Old Cutler Inn. The restaurant intends to be key proponent of their walkable neighborhood. They'll offer comfortable indoor and outdoor seating that totals approximately 130 seats.

Michelle Pascarella shared her vision for the concept with FFBW. Pascarella is planning an ambiance welcoming of families, sports viewers and guests who want to stop by for a quick and easy drink on the deck. With the nearby Deering Estate, which hosts weddings and other events, the Pascarella's intends to offer rehearsal dinner accommodations too.

While the exact menu is still under development, Old Culter Inn will serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. They have full service dining, along with takeout and delivery.

Benjamin Pascarella said that the concept is assuming the namesake of a local restaurant that was open from the early 1900's to the 1990's. The naming rights of Old Cutler Inn were granted to the group by Eric Haas, who owned a sports bar by the name as well.

Early on in the development, they group plans to open in Q3-4 of this year. Old Cutler Inn will open at: 16800 Old Cutler Rd, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157.


PALM BEACH COUNTY

Toro Mambo Cocina Mexicana

A new, full-service Mexican restaurant is coming to Jupiter soon, owner Jaime Aguilar told FFBW. Taro Mambo Cocina Mexicana is planning to open in the coming 2-3 months.

Aguilar owns several Mexican restaurants in Florida. He owns La Condesa in Boca Raton, and Casa Amigos in Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach. Toro Mambo will be most similar to La Condesa, Aguilar said. Expect nice plate presentation, a bar and a welcoming and festive atmosphere.

Aguilar and his team recently moved into the space at: 185 E Indiantown Rd 223 230, Jupiter, FL 33477. He is getting permits and licensing squared away now and plans to open in 2-3 months.

MARTIN COUNTY

Egyptian Shawarma

A new food truck is opening in Jensen Beach. Owner Amr Metwally told FFBW that Egyptian Shawarma is coming to the area in as soon as two weeks.

They will specialize in serving middle eastern cuisine, Metwally said. Once opened, they will alternate between serving food at events and at: 845 NE Pop Tilton Pl, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.

They will be operating under the business entity Artisanal Halal Cuisine, LLC, based out of Jensen Beach.

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY

Barracuda's 2.0

The new and improved rendition of an Okeechobee staple is returning to the town very soon. Owner Evan Reisfield told FFBW that they will open on March 1st.

The bar and restaurant will be serving classic American foods, like wings, burgers, chicken, meatballs, and so forth. Reisfield's goal is to keep the food menu as affordable as possible, as he intends to keep each plate under $10.

Barracuda's 2.0 is meant to maintain some of the atmosphere of the previous Barracuda's. There will be happy hours, bar games and other similar types of bar entertainment.

LEE COUNTY

2 Da Last Bite

A new Italian-style food truck is opening in Cape Coral soon. Owner Shawn O'Rouke told FFBW that he's planning to open in two to three weeks.

2 Da Last Bite will serve a variety of Italian dishes. O'Rouke's family formerly owned an Italian restaurant in New Jersey, and he plans to use some of the family recipes. He intends for 2 Da Last Bite to serve restaurant-quality Italian food.

Keep an eye out in Cape Coral over the next month for 2 Da Last Bite.

BREVARD COUNTY

Soulfood Connection

A new soul food and southern-style food trailer is opening soon in Brevard County. Co-owner DeAnthony Smith told FFBW that Soulfood Connecting is planned to open as soon as next week.

The trailer, once open, will travel to festivals and events around Brevard. The menu will consist of dishes like meatloaf, oxtail, fried fish, Philly steaks, burgers, collard greens and much more.

The Smith's are also the owners of the Downtown Diner in Titusville at: 605 S Hopkins Ave, Titusville, FL 32796.

LAKE COUNTY

Scooter's Barbeque

A new BBQ restaurant is opening soon on the same property of Crossroads 44 Bar, co-owner Shannon Carpenter told FFBW. Scooter's will provide guests with a fast casual BBQ experience, while Crossroads 44 will supply the crowds with drinks and live entertainment.

The restaurant is owned by Shannon and her husband, Scooter. The independent, family-run restaurant is coming from years of restaurant and culinary experience between Shannon, Scooter, and their son.

Carpenter told FFBW that they are nearly finished readying the space. Expect around 55 seats between indoor and outdoor spaces. Their hope is commence operations on February the 19th.

They'll open at 36721 N County Rd 19A, Eustis, FL 32726.

VOLUSIA COUNTY

Smash N Dash

A new food trailer is coming to Ormond Beach soon, owner Debi Trotter told FFBW. Smash N Dash will be traveling throughout Ormond Beach, Port Orange and Daytona Beach once opened.

Trotter told FFBW that she is about to begin the inspection process, and she hopes to open her trailer soon. Her menu will consist of smash burgers, chili dogs, nachos, pulled pork, mushroom and Swiss burgers, loaded fries and much more.

An exact opening date isn't available as of now. Keep an eye out for Smash N Pass at festivals and events in the area.

ORANGE COUNTY

Pão na Chapa

A new Brazilian restaurant is coming to Orlando soon, co-owner Jorge Barros told FFBW. Pão na Chapa will serve Brazilian foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Barros reported that a central dish will be Brazilian style steaks. They will offer an a la cart menu of comprised of the steaks and other Brazilian offerings. Pão na chapa itself is a toast-like Brazilian breakfast dish.

The new restaurant doesn't have an exact opening date yet. Barros said that they are still readying the space and getting through some final inspections.

POLK COUNTY

Cafe Zuppina

A south-Lakeland restaurant is moving into a new space in downtown very soon, co-owner Berna Nar told FFBW. Cafe Zuppina will expand their seating and menu in the new location, Nar said.

Cafe Zuppina has been serving Turkish and Mediterranean food in south Lakeland for over 15 year, Lakeland Now reported.

Cafe Zuppina will continue to offer their market along with the restaurant, much like their previous location. According to reporting in Lakeland Now, the market is planned to open sometime shortly after the restaurant does. Nar said that the restaurant will have capacity for 100 guests.

Our Noire Kitchen

After finding their footing as a catering and private chef company, owners and couple Kadean and Laures Dockery are moving into a food trailer. The new trailer will allow them to expand their unique menu and attend more events throughout Polk County.

Our Noire Kitchen is known for serving a variety of gourmet menu items. Guests in the past have enjoyed oxtail, ribs, brown stew snapper, jerk chicken, shrimp and grits and much more. Once the trailer opens, Our Noire Kitchen will continue to add to its craft menu, Laures Dockery told FFBW.

The trailer is near ready and will open soon, but an exact date is not available as of now.

Valentina's Lunchbox

A new food truck is planning to open in Lakeland soon. Owner Jose Izquierdo told FFBW that Valentina's Lunchbox is undergoing licensing and permitting currently.

Once opened, Izquierdo will serve a variety of cuisines. Expect Cuban food, burgers, wings and much more. The brand will be operating under the legal entity Valentina's Lunchbox, Inc.

A Facebook or website aren't available currently. Izquierdo is still deciding if he will stake out in one location or be more mobile.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Voodoo Brewery

Valrico is getting a new location Voodoo Brewery soon, franchisee Chris Ciulla told FFBW. The new location is the first ever ground-up buildout across the the whole brand.

Ciulla told FFBW that they are currently pouring concrete at: 3434 State Rd 60, Plant City, FL 33567. Early on in the process, Ciulla anticipates opening in June or early July. Once opened, guests will be able to enjoy a 5,000 square foot space with 140 seats between the inside and outside areas.The patio, Ciulla said, will be facing west and will afford guests stunning views of the sunset.

ALACHUA COUNTY

Top Hog BBQ, Bourbon and Blues

A new location of the Top Hog brand is opening in Gainesville soon, owner Mike Sheftic told FFBW. This restaurant is opening in place of the Top Hog currently operating on Archer Road in Gainesville.

Sheftic told FFBW that the new location will be larger than the Archer Road unit, which is slated to close down March 24 or 25. This will allow the Top Hog team time to move over the equipment to the new restaurant in the Oaks Mall at: 6419 W Newberry Rd, Gainesville, FL 32605. Sheftic anticipates opening in early April.

The Oaks Mall unit will be called Top Hog BBQ, Bourbon and Blues. They will emphasized live performances and bourbon on the new menu. The brand is also expected to roll out some new entrees here as well. Expect an indoor stage for performances.

DUVAL COUNTY

At This Point Let's Eat

A new food truck is planning to open in Jacksonville in the coming weeks. At This Point Let's Eat, owned by Steven Holmes, will bring bring a menu of comfort foods like wings, fries, shrimp, egg rolls and more.

The truck is amidst permitting and licensing currently. Holmes anticipates opening sometime in the next month or so.

The business will operate under At This Point Let's Eat, LLC.

WALTON COUNTY

Sno Kingdom

A new food trailer is coming to Santa Rosa Beach to serve frozen treats and desserts.

Owner Kim Prince told FFBW that Sno Kingdom will specialize in serving shaved ice, ice cream, hot chocolate and coffee. The trailer is undergoing some final paperwork and will likely be up and running in a month or so.

Prince and her family also own a water park called Kingdom Splash Fest in Indiana that might also be relocated to Panama City sometime in the future.

Watch out for Sno Kingdom early next month.
