Tampa will welcome a new 7,000-square-foot Ivybrook Academy preschool this fall, franchisee Jade Thompson shared with Business Debut. Jade, a former healthcare professional, is launching the business alongside her husband Duran Thompson, a U.S. Army veteran.

The preschool will open at 5392 Primrose Lake Cir, Tampa, FL 33647, in a newly constructed building. While an exact opening date has not been set, the Thompsons are planning for a fall debut.

This location of Ivybrook Academy will feature 5,000 square feet indoors and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor classroom and play area. Inside, the school will include a gym designed for active, physical play throughout the day.

Ivybrook Academy Tampa Palms will offer both full-day and half-day preschool programs. Children aged 18 months to 3 years can attend morning half-day sessions from 8:15 am to noon. For children ages 3 to 5, options will include morning, afternoon, or full-day attendance, with availability ranging from two to five days per week.

The school’s curriculum draws from Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, paired with individual assessments for each student. According to the Ivybrook website, the program is designed to “foster critical thinking, creativity, and independence,” with lessons tailored to each child’s developmental needs.

Thompson said the idea for the preschool came when she was caring for the couple’s three-year-old child and couldn’t find a half-day preschool option in the area. That search sparked the idea to bring Ivybrook Academy to Tampa Palms.
