Lester’s is preparing to open as part of the second phase of the Douglas Inn at: 18 E Oglethorpe Ave, Savannah, GA 31401, Chef Jacques Larson told Business Debut. We first saw the news in Eater Carolinas.

Currently, they are nearly finished preparing the space and plan to open soon.

What to Expect

The space will be in the basement of 18 E Oglethorpe, which is joined to The Douglas Inn by a connected courtyard. Above the restaurant space, there will be 6 rooms and suites. Chef Larson expects 35 seats inside and 60 outside between the courtyard and space in front of the building.

Chef Larson, who is at the helm of Wild Olive and Obstinate Daughter in Charleston, plans for oysters to be central to Lester’s menu. Expect seafood towers, caviar service, crudos and other seafood dishes, with an emphasis on low country seafood. Lester’s will also feature a robust cocktail program, Chef Larson said.

Adopting French inspiration in the concept, Larson plans to root the menu in simplicity and high quality ingredients.

Larson expressed excitement about joining the Savannah hospitality scene and connecting with other businesses in the industry, from shrimpers, farmers, and local operators. They have partnered with local bakery Sixby for their bread service, he said.
