New Cocktail Lounge Velvet Swan Coming to Lakeland
The Velvet Swan will open Dec. 1, featuring handcrafted drinks, elevated small plates, and a fine dining setting blending vintage charm with modern luxury.
LAKELAND, FL – The Velvet Swan, a new cocktail lounge, will open on December 1st, 2025, at 125 S Kentucky Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801. According to owner Jeremiah Joaquim, who spoke with Business Debut, the lounge will offer a classy yet approachable nightlife experience for professionals, creatives, and mature audiences.
Joaquim explained that the Velvet Swan combines vintage charm with modern luxury, offering handcrafted cocktails alongside classic and modern dishes. The lounge will have 12 bar chairs and floor seating for 24 to 26 guests in a fine dining setting. Joaquim also stated that, while mobile catering and bartending may be added in the future, outdoor seating and private dining were not originally part of the plan.
Elevated Menu with Signature Cocktails
The Velvet Swan will serve both shareable and individual dishes, including charcuterie boards, burrata with heirloom tomatoes, prosciutto with melon or figs, caprese skewers, and marinated artichoke and olive cups. Guests can also expect handcrafted cocktails that go “above and beyond most of your standard traditional lounge areas,” Joaquim said.
Two highlighted drinks are the Smoked Old Fashioned and the Huckleberry Margarita. Dessert options, including a chocolate mousse cup, will round out the menu.
Jeremy’s First Restaurant Venture
From running bars to retail stores and even managing rental properties, Joaquim has a fair share of experience under his belt, but the Velvet Swan is his first restaurant-style venture. He credits his wife as the key inspiration and motivation behind the launch of the Velvet Swan.
Joaquim also encourages guests to leave feedback as he believes they are crucial to his business, irrespective of whether it is positive or negative: “I take everything with a grain of salt and get this opportunity to learn and grow and succeed in the industry and provide for the patrons that we're hoping to acquire.”
Opening Hours
The Velvet Swan will operate seven days a week:
- Monday through Saturday: 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.
