PENSACOLA, FL — Will Morin and Kent Simmons are bringing Lenny's Grill & Subs back to Pensacola with their first franchise location for the brand at 96 E. Garden St., Pensacola, FL 32502. The restaurant is targeting an end of June or first week of July opening, Morin told Business Debut.

What to Expect

Lenny's Grill & Subs is a neighborhood sub shop focused on fresh-sliced meats, cheesesteaks, hot subs, cold subs, salads and wraps, Morin told Business Debut. The brand was founded in 1998 by Len Moore, who wanted to create a place where guests could get good food, good quality and be treated right, Morin told Business Debut.

The downtown Pensacola restaurant will offer several ordering options, including a pickup window in front of the store, a digital kiosk inside and traditional counter service where guests can order with an associate, Morin told Business Debut. Morin said the team wants to create a customer-first environment where regular guests feel recognized when they come in.

Morin said he and Simmons wanted to bring Lenny's back to Pensacola after a previous location closed years ago. They chose downtown Pensacola because of the area’s growth and the need for a quick sandwich option among the district’s sit-down restaurants, Morin told Business Debut.

Morin said his favorite menu items include the hot Italian sandwich and cheesesteak. He also pointed to the brand’s hot pepper relish, which his wife likes on sandwiches.

The restaurant will also offer limited-time specials, including seasonal cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak options, Morin told Business Debut. A Hawaiian-style chicken Philly with teriyaki grilled chicken and pineapple is expected as a limited-time offer in the third quarter.

Opening Timeline

The restaurant is going into a renovated building on East Garden Street, Morin told Business Debut. The building has been gutted and rebuilt inside, with updated exterior work and a new restaurant buildout underway.

The location will include a pickup window in front of the store, along with interior ordering through a digital kiosk and traditional point-of-sale service, Morin told Business Debut. Morin said the pickup window is planned in part for late-night service downtown.

Morin and Simmons also have growth plans beyond the downtown Pensacola restaurant. Morin said they would like to open three to four additional Lenny's locations in Escambia County and Santa Rosa County over the next five years.

Hours

Planned hours are 10:30 a.m.- 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. - 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday, with Sunday hours subject to change based on downtown traffic, Morin told Business Debut.
