Lake City Openings: Lake City Ice Cream Company Coming Soon

LAKE CITY, FL — Lake City Ice Cream Company is preparing to open at 228 N Marion Ave, Lake City, FL 32055, with owner Joel Vann targeting an October 1 debut, Vann told Business Debut in a phone interview.

What to Expect

The Lake City shop will be the 10th location in Vann’s growing ice cream concept, and he said it will be the biggest so far. He has locations in Lakeland, a site under consideration in Plant City, and numerous other locations across Central and Northern Florida.

Vann said the new store will feature 154 flavors sourced from The Ice Cream Club, a 55-year-old Florida ice cream producer. “We’re a huge fan of it. I wouldn’t go any other direction,” Vann told Business Debut.

The shop also plans dirty sodas and an artisan line of cones brought in from New York, according to Vann. Cookies and ice cream cookie sandwiches are part of the offerings he outlined for the Lake City store.

Beyond ice cream, Vann plans to offer cheesecakes. The business will also sell BBQ, Cajun and regular flavored boiled peanuts.

Opening Timeline

Vann said he has filed for city and state licenses for the Lake City address. “I am at permitting right now,” he told Business Debut.

He is targeting an October 1 opening date, pending approvals. An exact opening day is to be announced.

Hours

Planned hours for Lake City Ice Cream Company are 12 p.m. — 9 p.m. Sunday — Thursday, Vann told Business Debut. Friday and Saturday hours are planned for 12 p.m. — 11 p.m.
