TAMPA, FL – La Valerina Café will officially open its doors tomorrow at 2741 West Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. The full-service Cuban café and juice bar will operate seven days a week, according to owner Julian Perez Llombart, who spoke with Business Debut.

Although the café held a soft opening last weekend, tomorrow marks its first full day welcoming customers. Guests can expect a wide-ranging menu rooted in natural ingredients, fresh juices, and authentic Cuban recipes.

A Taste of Cuba in Tampa

La Valerina Café specializes in Cuban classics and wholesome plates made from scratch. The menu features oxtail, chicken baked then fried with natural marinades of lemon, garlic, and cilantro, as well as an authentic Cuban sandwich crafted the traditional way—with pork, ham, salami, Swiss cheese, and pickles. The café also offers tacos, birria tacos served with dipping broth, burritos, and even a vegetable burrito for plant-based diners.

The beverage program highlights fresh-squeezed juices such as mango, papaya, mamey, and sugarcane, alongside Cuban coffee prepared on-site with freshly ground beans. Specialty drinks include the cortadito, made with condensed milk, evaporated milk, coffee, and cinnamon.

Space and Atmosphere

The 1,500-square-foot café seats about 30–35 guests indoors, with additional outdoor seating under shaded trees for cooler weather. An open kitchen design lets customers watch their meals being prepared, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

From Experience to Expansion

Perez, who has been in the restaurant business for more than 40 years, previously ran Borin Cuba Café, a five-star-rated Cuban restaurant known for its oxtail dishes. With La Valerina Café, he brings the same dedication to authentic flavor and natural cooking methods to Tampa’s Columbus Drive.

Hours and Opening Plans

La Valerina Café will be open seven days a week starting tomorrow. In addition to dine-in service, the restaurant will introduce social media pages and future marketing initiatives to connect with the community.
