Kava Bar and Coffee Shop Concept Coming to Miami
Pink Gorilla Kava is preparing to open soon in Miami combining a kava bar, coffee shop, and retail space.
MIAMI, FL - Pink Gorilla Kava is targeting an opening in the coming weeks at 340 West Flagler Street, Unit 102, Miami, FL 33130, pending final city approvals. Giancarlo Rodriguez told Business Debut the opening has been nearly three years in the making after about two and a half years of construction and a final stretch of licensing and city paperwork.
What to Expect
Pink Gorilla Kava is designed as a hybrid concept that brings together three ideas under one roof: a kava bar, a specialty coffee shop, and a retail storefront for the Pink Gorilla fashion label. Rodriguez said the space will have about 66 seats inside, along with a large outdoor terrace, and is meant to feel like a comfortable all-day gathering place where guests can work, meet, and socialize.
The concept traces back to Pink Gorilla, a fashion line created by Miami entrepreneurs Daniel Karan and Christian Ramos. Rodriguez said the Miami storefront will serve as both a retail home for the brand and a food-and-beverage destination built around hospitality, community, and an elevated but approachable atmosphere.
Coffee will lead the mornings, with ceremonial matcha, organic coffee beans, high-quality milks, and scratch-made syrups. Guests can also expect pastries sourced from local bakeries, including staples and Miami-leaning flavors such as guava. A larger food menu is planned later with help from Rodriguez’s chef network, though it will not roll out immediately.
Menu and Vision
Kava will be the centerpiece from day into night. Rodriguez described it as a beverage made from a root traditionally prepared in Polynesian islands and served as a ceremonial drink. At kava bars, it is often served chilled in a coconut shell and is known for its calming, social effect without the hangover associated with alcohol. “Everybody’s drinking less and less so they’re looking for alternatives,” Rodriguez told Business Debut.
Rodriguez said the team wants to introduce more people to kava in a setting that feels polished, warm, and welcoming. He said Pink Gorilla Kava is being built for the existing kava community, but also for newcomers who may be curious about the drink and want to experience it in a more approachable environment.
Opening Timeline
The team is targeting an opening that is anticipated any day now and as soon as city approvals are complete. Rodriguez said the business could open quickly once final licensing is cleared.
Hours
Pink Gorilla Kava plans to operate daily. Once fully established, Rodriguez said hours are expected to run from 8 a.m.—late night, potentially as late as 3 or 4 a.m., depending on demand.
